Legends division?

BCS1994

Walk-on
Who will take the Legends division and go to the B1G championship?? I see it being a 3 team race. Northwestern, Michigan, and Nebraska. Northwestern returns almost their whole team, and they were good this year and i think they will just get better. Michigan is supposed to be better but they are Michigan so they may just flake again and suck like they always do. Nebraska has a lot returning on offense and the defense is SUPPOSEDLY better.

The Leaders division is pretty much a given that Ohio State will win.

Assuming no one lays an egg, and things go as you'd expect.

Michigan: @MSU, Nebraska, @Northwestern, OSU. 2 losses in there - likely MSU/Ohio State

Nortwestern: OSU, @Nebraska, Michigan, MSU. 2 losses in tere - likely OSU, @Neb

Nebraska: Northwestern, @Michigan, MSU. 1 loss in there - likely Michigan.

Just like this year (and just like recently with Missouri in the Big12) - if we beat Michigan we control everything - however this year I don't think they'll need to since Michigan will have a couple of losses, and we have the other 2 difficult games at home.

I think the fact that we return most of our o-line, a two-year contributor at running back, a group of experienced wide receivers and a four year starter at quarterback, Nebraska will be the Legends divisions favorite. The defense really can't get much worse.

The sentimental media pick will be Northwestern.

The coaches pick will be Michigan.

The thoughtful and reasoned pick will be Nebraska.

Thoughtful and reasoned trump sentimental and harried coaches every time !

No, the defense really can't get any worse, but really I think they will get better next year. I say that only if we actually get these young guys on the field, and have a strong rotation between them. It appears we may not really have a choice next year. These young guys may not 'know the system', but I think we've got some damn good speed and athleticism just waiting for a chance to show it. Even if the defense doesn't improve, I think the offense will be unstoppable next year. Taylor should have everything figured out by then, the RB's are probably the strongest group we've had in a long long time. The schedule sets up in our favor next year. There's no reason we shouldn't be favored, and there's really no reason we shouldn't accomplish all of our goals next year. No excuses next season.

They can get the young guys out there all they want, but the system needs to be adapted to let them fly around and make the plays. We may have to let their athleticism make up for any shortfalls in scheming. We will have some veteran guys in the secondary though, so I dont expect a total vanilla of the defense.

Believe me when I tell you, WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE WITH THAT ONE.

Well if they get it great. Bo's philosophy works if there's sufficient talent and everyone gets it. But when one of those two dont fall into place, we get what we seen numerous time over the past 2 seasons. Bo has grown and improved in numerous aspects as a coach over the past couple year. His recruiting seems to have improved greatly. Now it's time so see if he can adjust schematics for the sake of talent, and they may be adjustments us fans may not even notice with the casual eye.

I think people get a little too bogged down in how well our players know the scheme and their athleticism. Nebraska needs to have fundamentals and discipline relentlessly drilled into their heads. We've had players that know the defense and lack athleticism, and players that have athleticism but don't know the defense. Regardless of what camp they fall in, we've seen undisciplined play and fundamental breakdowns on a consistent basis the last two years. That's the biggest worry for me.

We need guys that will stick with their assignments, maintain fundamentals and play smart, disciplined defense. We do that pretty well offensively, but there's some disconnect defensively.

I think Northwestern has good skill players but only so-so lineman. They also play at Wisky on the road. I think it will be Mich or Nebraska and of course I'm taking Nebraska.

:thumbs Totally agree. As someone said, the D can't be any worse and our O should improve.

Yea Michigan continually sucks, just 900 wins and they took South Carolina to the final seconds, a team that curb stomped Georgia 35-7. We will have our hands full with Michigan this year, just like we will every year. We got some luck with Robinson going out, but that may have even made them better the rest of the year.

I think if the defense can play as a team, and are allowed to use their speed, not think out every play we could win the division. Still see no chance of us getting close to Ohio State.

A loss is a loss. If you want to talk about playing close, then Wisconsin and Michigan State were good teams this year. 8-5 is not good.

That is your opinion. Wisconsin curb stomped this 10 win team. For some it is all about wins and losses. I look at the teams as they are not what I want them to be. We beat a Wisconsin team that was improving and continued to the end. Us not so much. We WON games we should not have due to luck. If you are happy with that good for you. If that is what it takes to make you think we are on our way back fine. I need more solid results to look at. Getting man handled for 500-600 yards is not a good team either, win or lose.
