Elk Hunt

Going on my first elk hunt in September. We are going to Colorado and I am gonna plan on archery hunting this elk. Some are gonna try for muzzleloader tags. Any tips from people who have gone? Stories?

this is next on my bucket list, but first up a bear hunt in Idaho with a bow in April. Good Luck go get a 350 bull with that bow

If you're not already . . . get in shape. Several buddies would load 50lbs into their pack and go for 25 mile walks in Nebraska . . . but it's still nothing compared to the combination of altitude, snow (maybe), and elevation changes.

I got a buddy who would go out and try to do it totally out of shape and one day he almost couldn't make it back to camp.
