Look at the picture below Albert's. It frustrates me sometimes. . . .
Why just do that at home? I went to the bar with a bunch of old guys from work last night. That was a lot more fun than going with people my age. These guys don't text, tweet, Facebook, etc. They LISTEN to you when you talk, they ENGAGE in the conversation, etc. A lot more fun than staring at the tops of peoples' heads IMO.Maybe they're taking advantage of that technology to connect with and text people who are important to them that would otherwise be completely absent in their lives due to geography.
I dont think you need to facebook what you are doing every hour.Maybe they're taking advantage of that technology to connect with and text people who are important to them that would otherwise be completely absent in their lives due to geography.
If they're so damn important, then maybe they should contact them from a place other than a bar, and, maybe by picking the phone up and actually talking to them. This texting bs has gotten way out of control and is going to create a hopeless and languageless society (as I type my hypocritical rant on an internet message board  )Maybe they're taking advantage of that technology to connect with and text people who are important to them that would otherwise be completely absent in their lives due to geography.
I am in 100% agreement with you. Glad you caught the joke in my statement as well.True, but texting is its own distinct way of communication and has its charm and pluses. It's convenient and lets both parties carry on a conversation over a long period of time without having to drop everything else for five minutes. You're able to engage that person and incorporate them into parts of your day when you would never call them up just to say a few words and hang up. I'm being a hypocrite too because I've never had a texting plan or really gotten into the habit.
I'm sure some of those people on their phones would socialize if approached, too.
More hypocrisy, I don't really go to bars so I haven't quite experienced this problemI do hang out at cafes where I think it's expected your friends bring their work along with them and do that part of the time.
