CB3 research facility @ East Stadium

The more I read about the upcoming first-of-its-kind research collaboration facilities being unveiled @ East Stadium, the more intrigued I become. The latest news on CB3 gives us a clearer picture of its intended vision and goals for the immediate future. UNL is in line for a piece of the $10 billion "Brain Mapping" federal research grant being announced in March and the timing couldn't be better with CB3 opening in a few months.

Academics + Athletics = Innovative Research

Brain project would be big gig for Lincoln lab

I also hope this speeds up the process and brings greater awareness to Innovation Campus. This will also be a GIANT feather in the cap of elevating the overall academic profile of UNL in the future.

Make no mistake, I love NU athletics and will support all Husker student/athletes 'til the day I expire. But I'm just as interested in the latest developments in Academics at NU for many reasons beyond athletics. CB3 and Innovation Campus have the potential to push UNL into another Academic stratosphere, never before seen. That bodes well for those of us who hope to see our future kids/grandkids/relatives enrolling and seeing a bigger and better UNL than we're seeing today. Not to mention the potential economic impact that these research facilities could have for the entire state of Nebraska is quite promising as well.

This is why joining the B1G and by extension, the CIC, made too much sense when viewing it through the lens of Academics alone. It's too early to see its benefits right now since we're still new yet. But I have a feeling UNL and the community of Lincoln as a whole is going to look different in 20 years.

Innovation Campus is what will take UNL from a bottom level B1G school to a peer and take Lincoln to a next tier city. The vision for that land is absolutely incredible

+1

Agreed. Should be interesting to follow its development in the coming years.

Props to the people in charge. Expanding or adding programs like this bodes well for UNL. Being part of the ground breaking research and developing innovative tech. to help protect those that play the sport that we all love is something that just might save it .

Ok 2 things. Why is this in the lounge? And why can't we get some national exposure out of this? Why isn't the New York Times or USA today giving us some love?

I'm sure there will be once it's up and running and some results are coming out of it. UNL got quite a bit of pub for the safer barriers on racetracks once they were implemented.
