I have think we played much better on Saturday. But I have major concerns about how we appear to go into our shell after half time. We need to finish KS on Saturday and we need to finsh them by half time!!!! GBR

Well, the D held tough in the second half and that makes me think NU didn't check out. However, I was really hoping for us to finish them off before the last 2 minutes. Maybe some adjustments by ISU, but there were a couple penalties that hurt too. We were still getting some good runs but couldn't seem to string them together for a drive. Maybe just the nature of football, i.e., it has it's up and down moments. Maybe it's NE fans getting spoiled by great teams of the past finishing everyone off in the first half.

Taylor also fumbled on a first down scramble as well. That hurt. I wish they would have been able to finish a drive in the 3rd quarter. Oh well, it was still a great game.

That may be it.

I actually liked the gameplan this game. We built a lead, and ran the clock with our D bending but not breaking. Yes, I would have loved 2 more td's but instead of giving up turnovers, and allowing ISU the short field, which was the only way they scored (minus the meaningless play at the end of the game) we let the rb's grind the clock.

I think that was really it. If we are up by two scores with our defense creating havoc for the opposition, score at a minimum a touchdown a quarter in the second half and call it good. The more the better, obviously.

With this game, we ended up winning by two touchdowns. Can't argue with that.

The OL needs conditioning. They get winded
I would have to disagree with you because our O-line was pushing ISU's defense back in the fourth quarter. They were tired as hell and we still continued to stop them.......If they were tired they wouldn't have been able to open the holes to allow Glenn and Jackson to run like they did..........

I dont give a rat's a$$! As long we put up another W, I will go to sleep and wake up a happy man. :restore :restore :restore :restore :restore :restore

i think BC plays conservitive when we are leading after Half time
:yeah I think the team could have put up a lot more if BC would wished to. Look at the lack of passing in the 2nd half. He want to simply run out the clock and control the ball.

what a nitpicking thread.

Its called ball control, protecting a lead, leaving a stadium where they haven't won in 6 years with a win.

Everyone together 1........2.......3......moveon!

Overall Callahan had a pretty good game plan. We opened up a nice lead and Callahan went conservative to chew up the clock. It would have worked better if we could have rolled up a few more first downs on the ground. Next time I wouldn't be surprised if Callahan added in a few conservative high percentage passes to help keep the ball moving.
