Of course, last year we waited around and waited around for a cancellation. Didn't happen, so we went ahead and drove up. Parked almost a mile away, and all of us got completely soaked walking to the stadium. Still no cancellation. The guy at the gate scans our tickets, we go in gate 24 and the "father in law" has to use the restroom. He goes to the bathroom and the guy comes over the loudspeaker "Today's red and white game has been cancelled". SON OF A b!^@h! We waited and waited, walked through the rain, ( my then 10 year old daughter was really wanting to go to the game), so we finally get there despite our better judgement. Figuring, hey, if they haven't cancelled it by now, then they will probably give it a go. NOPE! They let all those people get there, right before kick off time to make the announcement. About five minutes after walking away they announce free concessions, so no we didn't turn back around and walk back to enjoy any of that.
Yea, it irked the hell out of me, and I have to say that was the poorest, most incompetent handling of a rained out sporting event I have ever been a part of. The University really let me down that day sad to say. But that was a year ago, let's hope this year is better.
