Pretty Good Read

When are people going to understand that the Wisconsin B1G Championship game was an anomaly and not actually indicative of how universally-god-awful our team actually was?

When he doesn't say the right things he's skewered (not unfairly, necessarily). When he does say the right things he's chided for being all talk. EZ's right. Can't win.

true enough. That said, if the team were to perform well this problem for Bo would go away.

I've thought that on numerous occasions. If for some reason just seemed like the perfect storm. Personally, I did not have a good day leading up to kickoff. It just didnt feel good. That sh#t feeling was in the pit of my stomach.

Sorry to hear that, man.

I think we're going to be in for a shock when the draft comes around. I expect to see 2 at most from the defense get drafted, and in late rounds. That we even won our division and made the CCG with the lack of talent on that side is going to seem crazy.

4 out of his 6 seasons as HC, Nebraska has lost by 25+ points twice per year. That's not an anomaly. That's coaching and recruiting. I do believe that the B1G Championship game was not truly indicative of the direction of the team now, but I would say his blowout loss record overall shows a trend until he can keep it from happening.

So you are predicting we lose two games like that this upcoming year? Bo's 6th!

Oops. 3 out of 5. 1st year and the last 2.

First off, he has coached for five seasons; not six. Second, while he is responsible for his team in 2008, it's hardly fair to count that season on equal standing with the rest. That leaves you with two out of four, maybe 2.5, and throwing a change in conferences into the mix.

I don't think there's much we can extrapolate in terms of trends, or else there are trends that go both ways, because there have been too many inconsistent variables. Changing conferences is no joke. The first two recruiting classes were a patchjob and an average attempt, but the last two have been solid, full of talent and progressively better. So that's one positive trend. Our offensive line play was a legitimate step in the right direction last season, another positive trend. Taylor gets better and better, and our offense gets better and better. More positive trends. Our defense will be young but have more talent, and it's generally agreed that a lack of talent has been the cause of most of our defensive problems.

You can look at it a number of different ways, and they can all point different directions. Long story short, we're all uneducated fans that don't know jack, and Bo has proven himself as a good coach and is taking steps towards trying to be a great one.

But here's the thing. That's not a trend indicative of Bo tenure individually. That's indicative of the Nebraska Football program as of November 23, 2001. Not that Bo has done the job to correct it, but he's not the trendsetter either.

I corrected myself on the number of years he has coached.

If we can't hold it against him for the lopsided losses in his first year, then he gets no credit for the wins either.

The people saying that we can hold Bo accountable for the blowouts in his first season better hold every first year coach to that same standard. When Anderson gets hammered by tOSU he will be held accountable.
