Our whole year hinges on beating Michigan in Ann Arbor and then luckboxing a win against Ohio State. Everything else is pretty meaningless.

What you basing that on???
Hopefully it's not the spring game, because none of 'em played. And the ones who did were all split up. We had 2's next to 4's going against two 1's and vice versa and so on and so forth.

He'll prob. pick NEB to go to the BIG10 championship.

Didn't he predict NEB to go last year as well?

However, I think he had NEB losing only 1 game in the regular season....didn't happen.
You're picking us to go 12-0 this year, right?
13-0 man, get it right.
Sorry... But seriously he's predicted our regular season record correctly the last 2-3 years
Who me!? Yeah i know.... ha

His negativity and thinking this program will never have less than 4 losses. This isn't his 1st, 2nd or 50th post of him putting down this team and putting a negativity in a thread. I just really hope he isn't basing this off of the spring game like some people are doing. If he is, then I am sorry...

I highy doubt 310lb Brodrick Nickens, 285lb Aaron Curry, 280lb Kevin Williams, 290lb Jay Guy, 290 lb Thad Randle and 325lb Vincent Valentine will be pushed around. With their size and athleticism (when healthy), we should have no problem controlling the DL. I take it your going to bring up experience now, but really... how much experience do you need to play DT? As Papuchis said, its the easiest roles on defense to play with understanding your role.

As far as the 4 losses goes though Nick, can you blame him for feeling that way? The last time we had less then four losses in a season was 2003, and those were 3 ugly losses-it might as well of been 10 losses.

No you can't blame him on how he feels, but does it have to be expressed with every post? I expressed how I felt, since he stated the ones who think we will have a decent DL, were crazy. I think its crazy not to see the talent and youth we have in that position, and the impact they bring on the defense. Sure, we don't have that much depth on the DT position, but its nonsense to say that these guys will just be pushed over. Actually, its quite naive.

You don't have to drink the "kool-aid" to show support. You also don't need to drink the "kool-aid" to realize that we do have talent there. Some just like to be a Negative Nancy.

lol you mad bro?

i'm not the negative nancy you claim me to be. if anything i'm a kool aid drinker on this board. last year and this year are the first time i had to slap myself around and wake up. i predicted four losses last year... i'm a realest. sorry you're upset with the reality that i bring.

i'm basing my statement on last year. we got pushed around. and now we're plugging brand new guys in there. are they good? i hear that they are. but they are still young and probably not their ideal size. long story short, you can't talk about national championships with the squad we got on the defensive front.... absolutely not, not until we see them. its just crazy to talk championships with a defensive front that have never seen a college football field yet. you need men at that position to win championships. we have babies (until proven otherwise.)

Just because you predicted 4 losses last year, doesn't make you a realist. I have only been here since last September, and since I have been here, you have had nothing good, or nice to say about Bo, the players or the program. You just seem like one of those people that will be completely unhappy with anything positive in this program, unless we win a national championship.

Your basing your statement off of last year, with only one starter on the DL being the same (Ankrah)? That makes no sense. We are bigger and faster than we were last year. We don't have 240-260lb DE playing DT. Who in the hell has said anything about winning a national championship this year? Its definitely not crazy talk about winning the the B1G CCG, because we made it there with that "horrible" line your speaking of from last year. Now these players are babies? In what aspect? Size? Experience? Please clarify, because I don't want to assume anything here... I would love to see you put some pads on and see how bad these "babies" beat you up in practice.

We got pushed around because the last part of the season we had Cam MEredith playing DT (no offense to Cam, but he's not a DT). Once Baker went out, our push up the middle left, and trying to rely on Cam and a injured Thad Randle was not going to stop a running game like Wisconsin's.

Given that we have virtually no proven talent returning at DT (Randle is average, at best) and that nearly everyone else is a freshman or sophomore . . . I think that it's fair to assume that the defensive line will struggle.

It's going to be another long season on defense. I know a lot of fans say "how could it be worse than last year?" Well . . . stay tuned. Luckily the schedule will cover some deficiencies and at least give the defense some time to learn.

What does them being a RS Freshman or Sophomore have to do with athleticism and size? Are we not bigger than we were last year? How much experience do you REALLY need to be good at DT? Its really not that of a difficult position. Its not like they have to learn coverage routes, or cover receivers. Their job is simple... Contain, pressure and/or Blitz. Thad Randle is "average at best"? What do you base this off of? Last year's assessment You do realize he was, literally, playing on one good leg right? 50% at most.
