What frustrates everyone, is the fact that we all know that he's capable of doing a good job. Sometimes I think people seem to forget, this is his first head coaching gig, he's going to make mistakes. He's still learning himself.

And more important than that, he is continually improving as a head coach and as a recruiter.

While making sure education and the future of these kids are his main priority. You couldn't ask for a better coach IMO. Sure you can ask for a coach that wins National Titles, and don't care about the kids futures, unless they go NFL, but lets face it, what is the percentage of kids that actually make it in the NFL and stay there as a career? We are improving in a lot of areas, and we will continue to do so. Bo has my full support. He is building a VERY good ground for kids, and it will pay off in the end.

Educated kids making in the NFL, with a backup plan if things don't pan out. Talk about having your cake and eating it too.

I honestly think that after such a decent turnaround in '08 and being on the brink in '09, Bo may have got a little complacent. Maybe he began to "let off", like it was possibly going to be easier than he thought? I mean, how could you not? He took a 5-7 with one of the worst defenses and in just 2 seasons, had the nation's best defense, and, even with one of the worst offenses ever, had a team that could play with anyone at that point.

This season is Bo's watershed moment. He's got the chance to make strides forward, and improve the situation of the program...

I am talking about up to this point. The way Pelini is building our program, you can't have both immediately. Maybe if he was a big time HC before he came here, but he wasn't. I would rather have successful kids and a successful program, with 10 loss seasons and win championships down the road, rather than an Alabama school, where you over sign, cut kids because you can't fulfill your scholarships, cut them because they weren't what you expected, and/or send kids away with no degree. We try to keep our kids here all 4 years, so they can fulfill their education and be successful if things don't go to plan.

Possibly nothing, though I highly doubt Nebraska fans are any worse than Oklahoma or LSU fans. He forgets he was a coordinator at those schools, not a head coach. To me, it just comes across as excuse making, and I know of plenty of people who agree. My point is that there is no good reason to make that statement. It does you a disservice in two ways. First, it seems as if you are lamenting the passion of your fans, rather than embracing it. Second, it seems as if you are giving your players a reason to say "well, THAT'S why we didn't play well".

We all know Pelini fosters the "us against the world" mentality. I just don't get creating angst against your fan base.

We critique our football a lot more than those other schools, believe it or not.

There is no way you can quantify this. It is purely subjective.

Sure you can. Listen to the announcers, and CFB guys on TV gush about NU fans and their Football IQ. They don't talk like that about other fanbases.

Among many things I enjoyed about this article, the comment about playmakers is important to me. 10 years from now, how many people on this defense will we remember for their play on the field, regardless of NFL success? Few, if any. Some of our most forgettable years had some of the most forgettable players, so a lot of it has to do with recruiting. I think we've got plenty of young guys capable of filling this void. Unfortunately, and as I've said before, I believe our '08 class (which made up a large portion of last year's players) had little talent. And the young guys we had in the wings just weren't ready to compete, and they still may not be there quite yet.

That said, and to reiterate, I think we've got more young talent than we've had in awhile. And, Pelini has been doing things off the field the right way, for the most part.

Quite the bold statement to make without any time frame or qualifications. If he doesn't win or go to a National Championship, he will get fired. What? When? What if he's losing one game per year in this Final Four format we're going to? It's a ridiculous statement to make. Of course, if he goes 5-6 more years and is 6-6, that is a different story ... but then you can say he didn't win or go to a National Title so you are right. Nice.
