Chip Kelley to the NFL..?

Gone by the end of the season? No, very unlikely. However, I think this is a brilliant decision on his part. Not only is Oregon dealing with this NCAA investigation, but regardless of what happens in the NFL, colleges will be LINING UP to get him at their university if he fails in the NFL.

It's a win win for Chip Kelly.

Not that this is exactly news, but Oregon acknowledges that "major" violations occurred.

Documents released by the University of Oregon show the school and the NCAA agree "major" violations were committed by the football program, both The Oregonian and Portland, Ore., television station KATU reported Monday.
The documents focus heavily on Will Lyles, who ran a recruiting and scouting service and has been widely reported to be at the center of the investigation, according to the reports. Most of the alleged violations cited occurred during the tenure of former Ducks coach Chip Kelly, who left Oregon in January to become the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Skipping out of town before the hammer comes down. Taking a page out of the Pete Carroll book. It's a shame. No character.

Pretty obvious. Sad part is, just like Carroll, is he'll never be held accountable for it. He'll probably be successful in building a decent to good NFL team, and will be put right back up on a pedestal with not repercussions of being responsible for pretty much setting back a college program back 10 years with his "win at all costs" mentality.

Doubt Oregons penalties are that severe. No lack of institutional control was found. Maybe probation and loss of a scholly or two.

He'll be punished 11 years from now, by being made to coach UCLA when USC has another strong period.

He'll be fired by the Eagles or struggle for a few years and then a major program will call him up and he will jump ship and get more money. We have seen this act before
