Huskers in NFL Mock Drafts

What is the status on Baker S? Is he still injured? If fully healthy I believe he is worth a mid to late round draft pick.
Seriously?
I actually agree with him. Baker was not a flashy DL, but it was very noticable when he wasn't there. I could see some team taking a chance on him in the later rounds & knowing that they could also give him a shot on the OL if the DL seemed to not work out has to have a little weight.
Seriously?

Seriously. What separates him from any of our other d-linemen, that would make NFL scouts take notice? I could see him as a undrafted free agent type guy, maybe, I just never considered the prospect of him being drafted.

I would think out of all of them, Martin would raise the most eyebrows, but only as a situational player.

Lol I was just giving you crap, but I don't think Stein will be drafted, or even come across any of their minds to draft. He is injured and didn't prove anything this year, outside the Wisconsin game. He was the only big sized, talented DL we had, but nothing proving that he is NFL worthy. With his injury at the end of the season, that just throws more question marks into the mix.

All in all, the only way he will see himself practicing in the NFL, is free agency or trying to get an invite to try outs.

Like I said in my previous post way up there, Martin would be one of our Huskers I would draft. I think he would be a decent LB. Same for Compton, if he was put in a LB crew that already had talent. I do see more than one, but not more than two Huskers to make the draft.

I think Ben Cotton and Kyler Reed are both talented enough to make it in the NFL, neither one of them got the chance to really blossom in this offense though. I guess part of it is because they were spitting touches.

So do I, but I don't think they showed enough throughout the season to get drafted. Taylor isn't one to utilize his TE's to the fullest. That and I don't think he had the passing capabilities to do it either, with some of the issues we had last year (weak pass protection), and his average (at best) throwing mechanics.

In regards to Baker, most of the chatter about him ever since he came here was that if drafted, he would project as an OT at the next level...

FIFY ;)

There were plenty of plays last year where Taylor opted NOT to pass it to Reed or Cotton wide open, or the pocket (if that's what you would have called it last year) collapsed WAY too fast for him to see his options.

HuskerShark, I believe to this day, that Steinkuhler should have never been moved from OT. He had the potential to be an All American, IMO.

I agree with both of you. It's probably a combination of things, not to forget the fact that they were splitting touches, and we're kind of loaded at WR, and we're a run-first team, ect.

Just based off ability, I think either one could find a role in the NFL. Hopefully they don't slip through the cracks.

I think kyler would be a great slot type guy in the NFL seems like a mis-match dont know why we didnt use him more.

IMO Damion Stafford will go in the 7th. Good fit for a Special Teams contributor to start off.
Aside from the fact that he is on of the worst open field tacklers I've ever seen I'd agree with you.
He was not a terrible open field tackler. He had a bad game and everyone in the world saw it. Not many safeties in the country could tackle Keith Marshall (UGA RB #4)in open field and he made a great play on him. He had more moments in his career when he showed he was a more than capable tackler, than the few times when he missed (Wiscy game). I liked Stafford and he brought an attitude on defense.
