This guy.I chose "Defense can't stop the other team from scoring" Defense wins championships.
You did?!? That's an amazing talent! We were chasing OSU the whole time. I don't know about you, but I felt we had no chance to win after the 1st.OSU was just flat out an a$$ kicking after the first quarter (IIRC Urban changed a blocking assignment on the ZR, and changed Braxton's read) and we never adjusted.
My goodness, no it wasn't. It was 35-31 halfway through the 3rd quarter.
How many times am I going to have to point this out?
The year before, at USC, we lost 28-10. We played that game to not get blown out, and it was no less embarrassing.Thats a good point, alot of times its a one or two score game and in the final minutes when the other team has pretty much checked out the winning team will get more or less a trash time td to close out the game.final scores can be misleading. years ago when we had a home and home with USC and they kicked our a$$ but the final score was 49-31. 18 point loss. the game was never as close as the final score made it to be.I think he was referring to the final score.21 points can't be a considered a blowout. too many teams have come from down 3 td's to win games. A blowout is a point in the game where the lead is large enough that the team with the lead would have to commit numerous turnover's to lose the game.
But if you asked people which year was he better showing they would say 28-10. at the beginning the game for next year going into the 4th quarter the score was 42-10. the game was already over. The year before, at USC, we lost 28-10. And that one play was 20% of our total passing yards. That's why we went for a fake punt pass from deep in our own territory in the first half.
Yeah, and it was 21-3 at beginning of the 4th in 2006. We had like 150 yards entering the 4th. You can't just look at the score, because both were blowouts. But if you asked people which year was he better showing they would say 28-10. at the beginning the game for next year going into the 4th quarter the score was 42-10. the game was already over.
We also got a TD pretty quick in the 4th to make it 21-10. Defense just couldnt get a stop. I understand the gameplan of that game to try to keep is close till the 4th. Obviously when it was over, and lookin back we wish we'd a taken the "nothing to lose" approach and just let it fly, but at the time to me, it seemed like the right game plan. If we come up with stop there after that td, and get even a FG to be 21-13, we're back at the point that anything can happen. They just happened to put together a godly drive that chewed up most of the rest of the game for a TD. We have to remember that USC was today's Bama of that time. And, to me, the 2006 edition never felt a fraction as hopeless as the 2007 edition did once USC got rollin.Yeah, and it was 21-3 at beginning of the 4th in 2006. Speakin of gamechanging moments. Remember after taking a 10-7 lead in 2007, and on the ensuing kickoff, the USC returner coughs up the ball, and our guy couldnt quite get to it and a USC player picks it up and returns for extra chunk of yardage? Imagine if we get that ball.
