Which true freshmen do you think will play this year?

The only two I'm a little weary on are Collins and Singleton, but I'd say there's a very strong chance the other 6 will not redshirt.

There may also be chance for guys like A.J. Natter, Josh Banderas, and Drake Martinez.

I definitely think one of the running backs will redshirt. I don't think that they would burn a year for the running back in the fourth spot.

We played Cross as the #4 back last year.

I think both will play and play early.

I think Cross played immediately because he was the kind of back that our backfield didn't have. And that was a power back. Taylor is an all around power back just faster than Cross in my opinion. Newby is a quick and slippery guy, I can see him like Abdullah. Another factor you have to consider is that Heard was never 100% for a very large part of last year.

This is obviously my opinion, but if this was NCAA, I would redshirt one, unless injury comes along.

This could be true. But (if history guides us), it seems as if the coaches style isn't built around getting a lot of reps for the backups.

Now differing circumstances could make this an option this season, but so far I haven't seen as much concern about sharing reps as about getting the starters plenty of time and experience.

This. Both will play- I just see Taylor working in at RB and Newby being a return specialist for the year. You can't get someone that quick and shifty and not get him on the field helping the team.
