No, but they have 6-7 teams that could get there in any given year. USC this year - certainly possible. Would you be shocked if Georgia made a run? Not at all. Florida, easily possible. LSU, definately. Alabama - almost guarenteed. A&M, very real possiblity. No one would be surprised in the least if any of those teams ended up in the championship game. Obviously not, they're all in the preseason top 13.
Go 6-7 deep into the B1G. Michigan State? haha, not happening and you know it. Vanderbilt has a better chance playing for the NC even going up against all the teams above. Who's next after that...Purdue? Not exactly on the same talent level as the above teams. Not making a run.
They are top heavy...because their top is so damn good. We're not top heavy at all, because our top is mediocre at best the last 5 years or so. I'd put money on everyone of Vanderbuilt, Kentucky, Mizzou, Miss St, Ole Miss and Auburn over Illinios, Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, Maryland
If those 6 SEC teams played every one of those 6 B1G teams I would put my house on the line that the end record would be something along the lines of 28-8ish in favor of the SEC.

Auburn: 3-9
Arkansas: 4-8
Tennessee: 5-7
Mizzou: 5-7
B1G Bottom 6:
Illinois 2-10
Iowa: 4-8
Indiana: 4-8
Minnesota: 6-7

That was the B10 issue last year. We (B10)did pretty good against other BCS conf.s before the start of the B10. I'm going off memory but I think we were the best among major conferences or at the very least #2 but had a winning record and were ahead of the SEC. The issue was we had MU get blown out by Bama (as expected) and we lost to UCLA and I think there was one other team that week that lost on TV so we got labeled as weak last year. Had MU played them close and we had won that coin flip of a game we end up with lots of talk about being a strong group. (And I won't forget we laid that stinker in the championship game that didn't help having that team be our "best" for the Rose Bowl that kept that perception.)
*note* I don't care what conference you play in. Its tough for you as a team because you play each other ever year and you recruit for match ups so everyone beats everyone up and its easier for a lesser team to upset the higher ranked dominate guy. So the best way to judge is out of conference play during the regular season.

And Wisky lost @ Oregon State. Had the games been played later in the season, Wisky cruises, and I think NU beats UCLA. Also, NW beat 2 SEC teams last year, but you didn't hear a peep about it from the talking heads.

I agree with you 100%. I completely agree with Bo's statement at media day. Don't say "The SEC" if we are talking about Alabama. There is no other program in the game today that is where Bama is. They just happen to be in the SEC.

I am really tired of hearing this. You want to talk about a program that was is in shambles try Colorado or Kansas. If the program was in shambles there is no way any we go 5-7 that year then 9-3 the next year. There was talent on those teams.devnet said:

Bo isnt going anywhere and isnt on the hot seat
I get frustrated with the turnovers, penalties and blowouts, but his kids graduate, stay out of trouble for the most part and he's winning 9+ per year
Not a fan of his sideline antics- but his players love him
I hope he sticks it out and grows into being a great Head Coach
