Monowi, Nebraska Population 1

Good read. I'd never even heard of that town. I thought Star, NE was Nebraska's smallest town. That part of Nebraska is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere.

i think ill pass.. she should go up and hang up with the tweaker lady on "life below zero"

Sue (Life Below Zero) is weird. She doesn't seem like that at all. I guess I'm missing the comparison here.

Larry the Cable guy did a segment on Monowi on his traveling the US show he had for a while. The lady was very nice and he helped her raise money for I think it was a library in honor of her husband, IIRC.

The article in Grantland mentions the library that was built in memory of her husband.

I kinda got the creeps reading the first half of this article. I was expecting the writer to walk into one of these deserted buildings and find a bunch of bodies or something. Or finally find the lone resident, who never speaks but instead just carries a lantern and beckons him to follow her to an old cemetary.

I'm glad it had a happy ending, though.

LOL...you have never been to "nowhere" if you think that's "nowhere".

I think that's what the author was expecting.
