Bo and High School Coaches

I believe I saw a stat on this board somewhere that said we are something like second in the Big Ten in tackles for a loss and ranked near the top in sacks.
We're 2nd in sacks and 3rd in TFL's. All teams ranked above us have played 1 more game.

What is 10 wins if you don't win a conference championship, a BCS bowl game or a national championship?
Tom Osborne's first 8 seasons?
Why does someone always do this? Please stop.
Go ahead and trot out the "don't compare Tom to bo" argument. I simply answered the man's question with a 100% factually correct response.
Didn't Osborne also get "Blown out" to end either the 90 or 91 season? Something like 90 to 38 the last two games????

seems like as good as any response to that riddle. although, i would have gone with, "a 10 win season, which is still pretty good (probably means you won your division). just not great".

It's not about statistics or any of the other numbers for me at this point. I hold one of them very highly, I respect this person as a man and as a leader of men. Always have.

The other one.......not so much at this point.

I spent 8 years as a Marine recruiter towards the end of the Viet Nam war. I recruited in an area south of Kansas City, Cass and Butler counties. Many losses by Army and Marine forces came from that area. Recruiting had died, total failure, lucky to talk to kids at times.

Started a new idea, sell the counselor on me. Worked with them on all kids thinking about the services. It worked perfectly, a line along what Bo is doing. You do not always have to close the deal to make progress. I think what he is doing is a great idea. He is selling himself, not Nebraska to the kid, but his knowledge, his personality to the guys that have tremendous input in to their kids.

I do not think our recruiting is as good as it could be, but I do feel it is improving. This shows he is thinking out of the box, overcoming blockades by going around them rather than through them.

Just hope he gets the time for it to work for him.

Why not Bo?
Because he hasn't won a championship
So that's the penultimate criteria for being a leader of men? Forget the higher graduation rates, forget the increase in academic All-Americans, forget the character of our football team off the field in general (Team Jack). Nope, Bo isn't a leader of men and shouldn't be respected as a coach because his team hasn't won a championship...

I don't even know where to go with this...
