Our defense against Purdue

Our defense today did exactly what youre supposed to do to a bad team. They had less than 200 yards and 0 points prior to that fluke, whatever the hell it was td pass. You find me one defensive performance in all of college football that was as statistically dominant as this one. Find me one.
I'm just not going to try that hard to ruin the enjoyment I got out of watching my Huskers play well today. You, as always, are free to find such a statistic if you deem it worth your time. What I'm saying is there's a chance you're negativity detector is miscalibrated and you're finding it where none exists. I'm as positive about the program as the next guy but even I wondered about that same question. Anyone following the program since Bo's tenure began knows we dominate the statue and sometimes get whipped by the mobile QB. I thought it was like psuedo-science at this point, lol...

He even said he doesn't know what this means for next week. It's not like he predicted they would score 71 points on us. That's why I'm telling you to lighten up.
So you dont "not ruin the enjoyment" by speculating how bad our D would perform against Braxton Miller as opposed to Purdue. Instead of telling me to lighten up, maybe you should focus on picking a side, eh?
Actually it was my nice way of telling you that if it's that important to you, stop being lazy and go look it up yourself so you can give some positive affirmation to your statement. The side I'm on, right now, at this very minute, is the one that thinks you're being a spas. Don't cherry pick my sh#t for half-assed comprehension. I am not here to make you happy.

I should be done talking to you but what you said made no sense at all. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Not one iota. Anyway you seem pretty mad and determined to ruin this guys thread because you don't like it, so if you want to continue to be butthurt please do so via PM.

"Pick a side." The perpetual battlecry of someone feeling righteous and looking for a fight.

I dont need to look it up. There isnt one. It's that obvious. That's the whole point.

Ok ok, I'm sure there are some. Maybe Bye Bye Big12 will refute this. But if there is, there's very VERY few.

Today was a good day for the defense. Not stellar, but very, very good. Didn't seem to be nearly the guessing and simply being out of place that we saw earlier in the season. I think this game probably helps build more confidence and gives the D another good day of learning experience. Now they can build on that in two weeks of practice, take what they learn and apply it to Minnehaha and get us set for the November grind. Feeling better about the D and getting the payoff we hoped for when it became apparent we'd be starting/playing a lot of youth on that side of the line this year. I don't think we'll see any more blowouts (at least not where we are the one getting blown out) this year. I believe that is in the past now.

Right now if we played OSU I bet the defense could hold their ground for a while, but maybe not an entire game. Now if they keep making strides like they have the past few weeks then these guys will have a chance against almost anyone come Dec. and Jan.
Hold their ground for a while. Shouldnt that be enough if our offense does what theyre capable of? Wasnt that the theme coming into the year? Be serviceable. You dont have to be great. It's why we lost the UCLA game. The offense went into the tank just as much as the D did.
That's why it's a team game. It's clear that the offense isn't the second coming of the scoring explosion and it doesn't have the capability to carry the team like we were hoping.

Lol, FIU is the worst team in Division 1 by a mile.
Did he really just pull the "FIU" card?

haha you wanted a statistically dominating performance there ya go

The D was solid. Took a step forward. Nothing extraordinary, but made the progress needed.

I'd be more excited if the opposition was more talented.

Still would have been nice for those guys to get the shutout.

I'd say that Wisconsin looked more impressive defensively against Northwestern than we did against Purdue. When you're comparing the defensive performances against different teams, it's important to do so by comparing the deviation from the respective offenses' averages. I'm not going to take the time and do that, so I'm going to run off of a rather solid assumption: that Northwestern's offense is better than Purdue's. Wisconsin held Northwestern to the same numbers as we did Purdue, thus is a better performance than ours. But that does not mean that our performance wasn't very good, it was, and it's a promising sign for the future.

This needed its own thread.
Don't be an a$$
He only voiced what everyone thought.
Yet we've all thumbed through it to the bottom
Because others came in and actually talked football. The OP provided nothing besides a mention of the defense and a shrug of the shoulders.

Meanwhile, there was a thread specifically about the defense providing numbers and names, started before this one. Rather than post in that thread, the OP started his own. With nothing.

These threads typically get gif-bombed to oblivion, locked or merged into other, real threads. But because I was being "an a$$" as you put it, I didn't do any of those things. I don't need any help from the peanut gallery, but if I do, I'll be sure to PM you next time.
