Since I'm not player, I don't feel bad about looking ahead. Say we win out going into the conference championship, how high does our ranking get? Personally I don't think it ends up any higher than 8-12. Simply because of the perception of the conference, and the fact that UCLA has at least one loss and may well end up with more. Thoughts?

 
Winning out would involve a conference title victory over a high ranked OSU team, and a Rose Bowl victory over a damn good Oregon or Stanford football team.

They'd be sniffing the Top 5, and the best season since 99.

Something to shoot for.

 
If we won out, grabbed a conference title and then a rose bowl title, they could rank us NO. 25 for all I give a F%^)

 
That would give the reporters something to write about wouldn't it? All the crap off the field our guys have had To deal with this year with a audio tape.

I wanna see Jack Hoffman holding up the trophy at midfield in Pasadena.

 
A few games ago a lot of us thought we had the worst defense ever. Wins over Illinois and Purdue really didn't prove much. Let's beat a quality opponent first.

I'm encouraged by what I have seen defensively in the last couple of games. But many are waiting until they play a decent opponent.

 
Last year we were very fortunate to win out with a few breaks & calls here and there. This year, we need to deserve all the W's. No gimmie's. I do think we drop a game either to Michigan or Penn State, though. 7-1 in the B1G should be enough to get to Indy. I would love nothing more than to see us spoil an undefeated season for Urban Meyer and tOSU so I can stop hearing about it.

But games against the Illini and Purdue are games we're supposed to dominate. I hope the defense improves as well, because we're going to need it for the last 5 games, and they're going to need to step up big time...
