Steelers help lessen knock on Coach Callahan?

One of the big arguments against Coach Callahan's coaching ability was the fact the Raiders played in the Super Bowl one year and went 4-12 the next. Well look now and the defending Super Bowl champions are 2-6 half way to matching that record. It showcases how difficult it is to remain on top in the NFL and how quickly the best teams can crumble.

Coach Callahan is practically rebuilding the program at Nebraska from scratch. The improvement is visible and the future looks promising. The WCO continues to click and Coach Callahan is continuing to perfect his play calling ability.

It takes a lot of luck in the NFL as well to make it to the Super Bowl. Sure you can have more losses, but their is some luck involved..........great point though!!!! :thumbs

 
Don't they think there is a "curse" in the NFL with teams reaching the Super Bowl and then not making the playoffs....other than New England of course. I thought I heard Madden talking about it one time....being that information is from him, I don't trust it 100%.

 
It is usually the Super Bowl loser that does not make it back to the playoffs. Not the winner of the Super Bowl. But the Steelers did come into the playoffs as the sixth seed last year.

 
The 'curse' is on the superbowl loser doesnt make the playoffs, they tend to get riddled with injuries. Seahawks have got hit so far this year. Like the Raiders did in 03. And the raiders problems are more with the ownership and management than it was callahan. They havnt won more than 4 games a season sence he took them to the superbowl.

 
It's not like the Raiders have done good since he left anyways, so I don't really put the blame on him. Al Davis needs to go imo, but he's the owner, so he will when he wants to.
