There is a big difference between a coach that has been at a school for 25 years as HC staying at the school and bring in a 60 year year old coach with baggage and sanctions following him, wouldn't you say?

i would say there is a big difference between those two. however, you asked, "I am not sure why anyone wants a 60 year old man as the coach of Nebraska." i gave a few examples of men around or over 60 years old who were more than capable for their positions, whether college coach or president of the usa.

One thing about Tressel is he would absolutely get better recruits here. His hiring would impact recruiting immediately.

Would he get better recruits than Callahan? Because we saw how that worked out, in fact think about the rivals rankings;

Is it really that much better? Especially with the recruiting base that he had, you see what Urban is doing with it. I don't think he would recruit any better than Bo. He certainly isn't going to get us in the top 4, which should be the goal.

Firstoff if you look at Tressel's classes from 2004-2007 I'd say that isn't too shabby and also why would you compare him to Clownahan when the current coach is the position we're hypothetically talking about him taking? Anywho...

Tressel was responsible for signing two classes that are ranked in the top 10 all time recruiting classes ever signed http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1239402 but hey if you think he can't recruit better than old Bo than more power to ya big guy!!! Never mind also the fact that the guy won 6 Big 10 Championships, had a W-L record of 94–22 (.810) and had a 4–3 mark in BCS bowl games not to mention winning the National Championship in 2002. Remember what BCS bowl games were like? I'll let you google those cause it's been a bit.

Having said all of this he'll never coach here. It's interesting conversation though.

The current class is in quite a bit of trouble though... the questions regarding Bo's future certainly aren't helping

But when you look at it, we took Chase Rome and Jay Guy as our DTs. To be honest if you look at how many schools wanted them combined with their measurables they looked good on paper. But so much more goes into it. We should have known Guy was going to have the issues he does. We should have been able to figure out that Chase Rome was going to be a head case.

Like you said, there has been improvement and an immense one. There is a lot of talent on our roster right now that Bo and his staff are responsible for bringing in. They've had to turn over every rock to find it, but it's there.

Of course you'd want to use our class rank right now to support your agenda against Pelini. A class that is barely half full and more than two months still to go until NSD. A class that Sean Callahan also said should be in the top 20 again. But by all means, use the ranking RIGHT NOW to support your stance because in two months you won't be able to...

Human beings make mistakes. Its how we learn from those mistakes that make us the people we are. It seems he is fixing the recruiting problems he had at the beginning of his tenure. Better now then never.
