This is an anomaly, in my opinion. I don't think anything was meant to be called this tightly.

Actually they wanted the higher scoring games. Exactly what the NCAA wanted.

They are playing tough though. It's hard to try and be physical on the inside when the refs are going to call just about any contact.

Nebraska wouldn't have even been in this game a season ago so there's that. With all the fouls, there's been no real rhythm or continuity on offense.

They are. There's been no flow to the game because it's been interrupted by stupid non fouls. Ted Valentine is an atrocious referee.
