Why Coaches usually don't move laterally from one "Big 5" program to another

If A&M brings his pay up I $4M, then the cost of living is the same.
So for equivalent compensation, he could be at College Station or in sunny SoCal coaching at one of the most revered schools in CFB history. Tough choice.

Or he could stay where:

1. Facilities are better

2. Recruiting is better

3. He is loved

4. He is being built the best stadium in the country

5. He just built a huge new house

6. His kids love it

7. His WIFE loves it

8. He gets paid and his assistants get paid

9. He says it's his dream job

10. He has the money and fan support to succeed.

He's staying.
