It's always been a game of inches

Some folks now look at the Purify catch at aTm and say that one finger is the difference between being 8-3 and 7-4. Well, maybe.........

But, that's ALWAYS the case and that's why this is the greatest game in the world.

No game is ever perfect, even blow outs. Look at every play and break it down. One missed block.... One more step....a shoestring tackle...... not biting on a receiver's head fake.....blocking a field goal. It is CHAOS THEORY personified.

To succeed, 11 men have to do their job. 10 men have to trust that 11th and vice versa. The variables in the game are all but incalculable.

The last two game are why I think BC and this team have turned the corner to championships in the future.

The Missouri win was totally workmanlike. The went out like a team with a mission to do and got the job done. Not a swagger but a confidence. Not cockiness but assuredness. I hadn't seen that this season before these last two games.

They started out the same at Kyle Field but those inches kept getting won by the Aggies. UNTIL, that last drive. That last drive was when this team jelled. They did what they had to do. They reached down and pulled from deep inside to fight for those last inches.

That's what makes a champion. I think the Huskers are going to be champions again.

Great post. Callahan and this staff are going to be the ones to bring us back to the top imo

LOL, Nope not the Godfather Jr. and I didn't really like Oliver Stone's supercynical look at the sport.

Besides, you don't think those Hollywood types come up with good material on their own, do you?

It was none other than Vince himself: Football is a game of inches and inches make a champion."
