Huskers vs. Baylor in NCAA Tournament

Huskers the #11 seed against the #6 Seed Baylor.

The winner would play the winner of Creighton's game (#3 seed).

Baylor was #6 in the Big XII at 9-9 in the regular season. They won three Big XII tournament games before losing to Iowa State in the finals.

They beat Kentucky, Oklahoma State (twice), Iowa State and Oklahoma during the season.

They are pretty balanced on offense with four players averaging between 13.5 and 11.0 points per game.

They are #32 in RPI. Huskers are #41.

Long and athletic. They will sit in a zone. They beat Dayton, Kentucky, and Colorado in the non con. And gave Syracuse all they wanted out in Maui.

On top of all that I'm sure they'll wear some hideous color of uniforms to distract shooters.

Brady Heslip is the shooter you can't lose sight of on defense. And Cory Jefferson is GOOD.

They crash the offensive glass relentlessly. And can match any team athletically. They go eight deep like NU.

Clark Kellogg seems really high on Baylor as a sleeper.

They are indeed a team with size.

Team roster:

21 Isaiah Austin C 7-1 225 SO Arlington, TX 15 Chad Rykhoek F-C 6-11 230 FR Fort Worth, TX 12 Johnathan Motley F 6-9 210 FR Houston, TX 34 Cory Jefferson F 6-9 220 SR Killeen, TX 2 Rico Gathers F 6-8 270 SO Laplace, LA 55 Josh Clemons C 6-8 230 JR Jacksonville, FL 35 Taurean Prince F 6-7 210 SO San Antonio, TX -- Royce O'Neale F 6-6 220 JR Killeen, TX 20 Logan Lowery F 6-6 190 JR Kingwood, TX 13 John Heard F 6-5 200 SO Houston, TX 24 Ish Wainright G-F 6-5 245 FR Kansas City, MO 25 Allerik Freeman G 6-3 200 FR Charlotte, NC 4 Gary Franklin G 6-2 190 SR Inglewood, CA 5 Brady Heslip G 6-2 180 SR Burlington, ON 1 Kenny Chery G 5-11 180 JR Montreal, PQ

I like it. A very fair arrangement and ironic that this year's Husker team reminds me of the very athletic Baylor team that whipped our a$$ in the Big 12 Tournament a few years ago. And then on to a Creighton rematch which will be a good game for either team.....assuming Creighton doesn't choke.

Unbelievable that Creighton and Nebraska could meet in the second round... Love it. GBR
Then Wisconsin maybe?

Note to self: be off the grid on Friday to prevent a Husker loss
Sweet Nolte profile pic. +1'd.

So skipping class if the game is indeed at 10 AM as Moiraine said on the other thread...

We're going to need Shields and Petteway to be clicking on all cylinders and our shooters to be hot to win this one. Kenpom has them at the #7 offense in the nation.

That being said, I don't know what the hell a Kenpom is...
