Ghost Stories

Several reasons actually. The main one being theres no money in ghost hunting so we all do it in our spare time which results in scheduling cases for evenings. Another reason for me is that our sense tend to be heightened in the dark. Eyes can play tricks, butyour other senses are harder to lie to. Plus if you take a first timer out and they cant handle the dark you know they probably wont handle an actual ghostly encounter.

I have no qualms investigating during the day but there are more intangibles during the day like traffic as an outside noise. Some theorists suggest ghosts are more likely to interact at night but I dont believe that.

I was talking to a guy who used to work as a waiter at a restaurant in a 100+ year old building three blocks down the street from my office. He was telling about a bunch of weird, unexplainable stuff that happens there. Big pans falling off the kitchen counter when no one is in the room. Downstairs doors opening and slamming (no open windows). Shadows moving around down the hall when no one is around. He swears the place is haunted. I'm not sure I believe in all that stuff. But I think the guy is being honest. It makes me want to investigate.

There might be some weird air pressure things going on, or mystical spirits from beyond the grave interested in opening doors.
In big office buildings Infrasound is usually a leading cause for paranormal activity. Sounds we dont notice have eery effects on people. Nausea, paranoia, even slight halucinations.

It's only paranormal to those who don't understand it.

Its paranormal until it can be explained logically. 95% of cases can be explained in one way or another. Once a logical explination is given the case moves from being paranormal to normal.

As long as we're defining paranormal as something we don't quite understand, and not jumping to the wholly illogical conclusion that something supernatural is going, then I agree.

Absolutely. Some groups cater to peoples fears and assume everything is a ghost. Me, I go in with a realistic approach. You saw a shadow? Probably a street light casting an outline. Hearing voices? Echo from the neighbors. Uneasy feeling? Old pipes causing infrasound.

I rarely use the word haunted, if at all. Even if I cant disprove activity for a client I tend to leave it at that, simply activity.

This is all very interesting. I hope to finish watching your video a little later 1995 redux. I for one could go on and on about some weird sh#t that happened in my life so far. Including the house we live in now and the fact that My kids will not go in or even walk towards a bedroom in our house by themselves especially if it is dark. Our dogs staring, whining, and some times barking at the air or maybe its a mouse who knows (kidding, but I have had a lot of things outside of our house with friends(not drinking).

I live in a new home, it's only 4 years old and we are the first family to live in it. My wife has told me she thinks that she's seen shadows of little kids running down the hallway. We obviously have twin 4 year olds so I thought she was crazy to be honest until the other day. I was standing in the doorway or our master bathroom talking to my wife and out of the corner of my eye I seen a shadow, about three feet tall run across our bedroom doorway towards the hallway bathroom. I thought it was one of the boys so I went out to see what they were doing. They weren't there, they were downstairs watching TV! I said, "f*&k this!!!" told my wife what I had seen and went and got a beer. She said, "I'm not surprised, I told you!" How does a brand new home become haunted? Our neighbors down the street have a new home as well and that place is REALLY haunted. They've told me stories that have had the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up.

The husband and his wife were asleep and he heard a noise in their unfinished basement. He gets out of bed and goes down to figure out what it was. He goes down the stairs and while he's down there he hears a voice yell down at him to, "hurry up!" He thought it was his wife, he goes upstairs and she's in the exact same position still sound asleep. He wakes her up and asks her about this situation and she has no idea what he's talking about. He checks on his two young daughters and they're both asleep as well. Both girls have said they've seen "little kids" in the house in the middle of the night. Yep, never going to that house again..........

So again I ask, how do brand new homes become haunted?

Maybe the developer only moved the headstones. LINK

Okay this is less uncommon than you may think. My team is currently involved with a client in a similar situation. North Lincoln expansion home, maybe 5 years old. Originally we were leaning towards his digging arou nd into his ancestry as a potential catalyst for the activity. That was until a house down the block had a startling encounter. Amother awoke early in the morning to what she described as a man standing over and watching her sleep. She rushed to her childrens room locked the door and called the cops, nobody was found in the home.

The original client has seen shadows from his office, his son has seen the same figure in the same spot from a different room. A figure downstairs at the bottom of the stairwell. The wife has seen a shadow figure creep towards her as she was taking a bath upstairs. And to top it all off there is an ongoing knocking/tapping noise we cannot trace to anything, it is interactive and very prominent.

If these events are not the work of the paranormal I would lean towards infrasound. Non audible vibrations we cant detect via sound 20hz or less. This causes different feelings uneasiness and can even make people see things that arent there. Look for a set of pipes that has a vibration or hum to it or even an industrial style fan that could be doing something similar.

If it is paranormal, is there a natural water source nearby? Water supposedly traps in energy of this nature. That doesnt necessarily mean ghost either. Limestone foundations also have this effect. Spirits can become attached not just to a location but also to people or possesions.

You beat me to it. I was about to post the same thing. Also to look into is the area it self. There could of been tragic events that have happened in the area in the past. Or even unmarked graves that could be a cause as well.

I've even seen people being sensative to electricity. If theres a spike or a leakage caused by a lamp, ceiling fan, electrical outlit or fuse box not wired correctly. Or something electrical going bad can cause similar feelings and paranoia while in the home. But from the cases i've seen that is normally only associated with 1 person in the home feeling that way. So having the electrical appliances, wires and fuse boxes checked out would be a good idea as well. Plus a lot of the banging or taping noises that i have found. Was caused by air in a pipe that happened to be loose and rattled against a piece of wood.

When you say "my team", is this something you do for work? A hobby? /not criticizing. Just curious.
I'm not sure about Redux. But most people investigate this for a hobby or have had an experience that makes them want to find the answer. I personally do it and watch the show for both of those reasons. Unless your on tv like Ghost Adventures on travel chanel or the Ghost Hunting Plumbers on Syfy you don't get paid.

Strictly hobby, there is no money in paranomal unless you sell out and get a tv show.
Edit Wildman nailed it
