Are you saying the program is still in the dumpster from a cultural standpoint then? If it was "destroyed" as you say, what was 08',09',10'? Seems the fans came back together pretty damn quick. Or is that just because Bo is that damn good?

Is it still as bad as it was in Dec '07? NO

Has it been fully repaired to the caliber it was at even as late as 2000? Nope. But it's gettin there.

Charlie Weis went 35-27 at Notre Dame and was 6-6 when year he left. You call that a "dumpster fire."

You must have missed the total wins and losses I listed. I'll bold it for you. I could also spell it out in crayon if you would like.

Charlie Weis had 1 losing season in 5 at Notre Dame.

Bill Callahan had 2 losing seasons in 4 at Nebraska.

Charlie Weis went to two BCS Bowls.

Bill Callahn did not.

Yet, we are going to talk about only one of these programs being a "dumpster fire."

And you do understand that improvement cant be a constant right? Sometimes you have to take a step or two back in order to take that leap forward. THIS HAPPENS TO EVERYONE

Sure '08 and '09 felt like big steps forward from where we were, and we pretty much went stagnant and even regressed a little since. But that is ZERO indication to suggest that improvement and progress is not around the corner. And it sure the hell aint a reason to fire a coach that has won 9 or 10 games in each of his first 6 years. Regardless of the scores. We stick with until we get over the hump or the wheels fall off.

Perennial loser, with one losing season in five years under Weis? What does that make Nebraska with two losing seasons and far worse record under Callahan? "Shambles?"

Notre Dame was in a pattern of losing. You can't say that about Nebraska when Cally left. He was a year removed from a division championship. The pattern hadn't developed yet. Glad we didn't allow it too. Then again I sometimes wonder if he'd had a chance to fire Coz what might have happened.

Perennial loser, with one losing season in five years under Weis? What does that make Nebraska's two losing seasons and far worse record under Callahan?

yes, 7-6 and 6-6 are stellar since they aren't "losing seasons". How long would Bo last with one of those non-losing seasons? Which side of the fence will you sit on if he goes 6-6 this year?

Yes, one time Callahan went 9-5 and went to the Cotton Bowl. Don't tell anyone that Weis went 10-3 and 9-3 and went to two BCS Bowls.

Oops. Honestly all three of you have such exhausting and inconsistent rhetoric I genuinely just subconsciously group all your posts together.

You can look at this a number of different ways. For example, I could look at Weis' years and conclude that his teams were getting better going from 3 to 7 and 6 wins, and also conclude that Callahan's were getting worse, going from 9 to 5.

Charlie Weis had better success, more overall wins, more wins in a season, less losing seasons, and less embarrassing losses. A weird exception that Callahan had one good season before the trainwreck doesn't exempt the negative reality of our program in comparison.

I like how they took the one marginal team out of that list, turned the entire argument which had little to nothing to do about wins and losses - into a wins/losses thing.

...because at the end of the day, most of the Bo supporters like QMany care little about anything else. As long as the 9 is there, that's good enough for them.
