McNeese State. Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, all expected to have good seasons. McNeese STATE will obviously be the one to beat us because they have STATE in their name.
Rutgers is THE State University of New Jersey, does that count?
McNeese State could beat Rutgers.
Could you point out the state of McNeese for me? I seem to be having trouble finding it (that's what she said).

All this season's talk seems to be revolving around Fresno, Miami, Sparty, Wisconsin and Iowa.
By huskerboard, maybe.
well what else do we go by other than the message board the question is asked on...
Maybe you should read the reply I already made, right here in this topic. I'll make it easy: "I'm saying they're being overlooked by forum members, not the team. When I think of a team as being overlooked I think of it from the players' perspective. Who cares if huskerboard or espn don't think Northwestern has a chance to beat us? I highly doubt the Nebraska players would overlook Northwestern after what's happened in the past 3 seasons."

Trevor Siemian is 22/52 for 219 yards with 2 tds and 2 ints against Nebraska. He's the throwing qb that Bo can devour. Northwestern would be about the third team down on this list for me.

Being just up the road from Rutgers and working with many of their fans, they're already penciling that in as a loss...

Rutgers has Gary Nova at QB.

I predict 3 sacks for Gregory alone, and the team will have 2-3 picks.

Nobody in our division has a proven quarterback. Mark is back for NW and given they are on your list they are an obvious choice. NW is the dark horse in our pitiful division.

Northwestern will be after blood with the way we took the game last year. They won't be over-looked. The only other team on this list that COULD give us fits is Minny

Based on the 3 times we've played them, how can anyone not pick NW?
I'm wondering how anyone could pick them. Why would they be an overlooked team?
Yeah, I don't think NW or Minnesota are overlooked by anyone. There's a lot of chatter about Fresno too. So they could hardly be considered "overlooked".

A team that might possibly surprise folks is Illinois. They generally have decent recruiting. Not great, but solid. A lot of 3* recruits with a couple 4*s mixed in. And is Tim Beckman's 3rd year as coach. His teams haven't shown anything yet, so he'll be scratching and clawing for a few wins to save his job.
