I worked at a Jewel...which is just a big grocery store.

I was a kid that bagged your stuff. Sometimes I got carts in the parking lot.

Because of my age I could not work more than 3 hours per day during the week and 4 hours on the weekends.

I think that I started off at 4.50 an hour...maybe 4.75

Rainbow Foods--grocery Store

Bagger-- like 6.85/hr or whatever Min. Wage was.

Moved up to courtesy after a year and pushed carts around.. think i got like 7.50 for that.

Setting forms for a poured basement crew all summer after my junior year of high school for $1.50 an hour. Hot miserable job.

Detasseling for a local seed corn company when I was 13 or 14. Awful job. Don't remember how much it paid. Probably $5 something an hour, I think that was minimum wage at that time.

Worked full time during the summers for a neighboring dairy farmer. Mostly put up hay but did just about everything else as well including cultivating, spraying, hauling sh!t, etc.

$7 per hour at age 12. My city friends never understood how I had so much money.

Edit: I should probably add that I was driving a smoking, croaking, 4 speed diesel F250 with a red vinyl interior to work each day. Hopefully my future kids have the opportunity to grow up on a farm, too. Haha.
