Athlon sports ranks the Big Ten coaches so you don't have to.

The bigger is with me really is that Anderson has his star player on the bench during a big game. His team starting to lose their lead, and, he has no clue why he wasn't in the game. AND, the player acted like he didn't know why he wasn't in the game.

As the head coach, wouldn't you see he isn't in the game and simply turn around and ask someone?

there was a reason he was not in the game. what is interesting is why they will not say what that reason was.

I think its rather hypocritical myself. Replacing a harmlessword like "ruckus" with an abbreviated version of a cuss word "f'up". I mean next brady hoke is gonna tease Bo about bein on the hot seat.

Yea, i wouldn't rank Bo Pelini as #9. I'd put him somewhere in the Top 5. Truthfully I think you need to leave James Franklin, Darrell Hazell and Gary Anderson out of this. Why? They are new to the Big Ten and their teams. At least with the others they have been with the team for longer than 1 season. So there is more to go off of from these coaches.

Pat Fitzgerald has been outstanding at Northwestern? Ha. His wins may be on the same level, but he has lost nearly twice as many games as Bo. Nor has he won a conference championship or been to a BCS bowl game. And Bo has taken the Huskers to 6 consecutive bowl games.

To me the ranking should look more like this.

1. Urban Meyer

2. Mark Dantonio

3. Kirk Ferentz

4. Bo Pelini

5. Gary Anderson

6. Jerry Kill

7. Pat Fitzgerald

8. Brady Hoke

9. Randy Edsall

10. Tim Beckham

11. Kyle Flood

12. Kevin Wilson

13. James Franklin

14. Darrell Hazell

And as far as your last sentence, I hear more national pundits say that Nebraska is no longer capable of being on top than I hear say that Bo is holding us back and we could still be elite.
who is talking about us being on top? i thought this was about competing in the B1G. our one appearance in the ccg was an embarrassment at the hands of a 7-5 team. i would qualify that as bo holding us back.
it is always a discussion of "bo is doing well enough because we can no longer compete at an elite, national level." but if you look just beneath that narrative, you see a team struggling to compete in a subpar conference.
I don't totally disagree with you, but I think that improvements have been made, tweaks in philosophy, upgraded talent, etc.
I listened to PJ Smith say that the problem in that game was that the coaches had the guys in the right places and prepared to play, but players decided to free lance and took themselves out of position.
Just like in the past, hot dogging wanting to make that big play and out of position.
