Game 4 “Expert” Picks: Miami @ Nebraska

I don't see this game being a close game. One of two things will more than likely happen. We either beat them up front running all over them until they fold like a folding chair, or we get no pass rush and their two speedy receivers kill us for score after score. I think this game will be won by either team by at least 14 points.
If we win by 14+ do the national pundits give us credit or discredit Miami?
My best guess is they simply discredit Miami. After Miami got beat by Louisville, their stock has dropped. In order for us to get credit, we have to win the Michigan State game. We win that one, we slowly but surely start creeping into the conversation for the final four.

Well, being that NU is the favorite there is not a ton to gain from this game, except for being 4-0.

A big loss for Miami probably means that Al Golden will be canned at the end of the year.
One can only hope. And, we can we make it Sunday? How about we don't let him on the plane back to Miami?

Are you hoping for a Randy Shannon return? Considering all the turmoil from investigations and withdrawing from bowl games, I'd say Golden has done pretty well.

More kids have been kicked off the team/out of school under Golden than Shannon. Golden is a more articulate Shannon. That's all Neither can coach, that is clear. Golden is a horrible coach, has hired horrible assistants, and lied to everyone when he tried to weasel his way out to Penn State, going "dark" for a week, while we lost 2-3 recruits. Now, if you want to tell me Butch Davis is coming back.....

Is Miami really in this much disarray? I have a hard time getting confident about this game, but your posts seem to indicate you don't think the 'Canes have much chance.

ha! I suspect Notsince1985 is sort of like that one Indian that rode into Custer's camp two days before little bighorn and said "You guys should have a cake walk...most of the warriors have gone home already".... :-)

I'd say most Miami fans have little to no faith in Golden. Go read our boards. He lost a lot of fans last year when we melted down, down the stretch. Those he didn't lose then, he lost when they came out unprepared, with no fire, and watched Louisville throw up the U and talk trash and throat slash all night in the bowl game, and, oh yeah, beat us 36-9. That, and after giving up more yards than every single team averaged per game, to every team except FSU (and we still gave up 450 yards) and one other team who I forget, maybe FAU or Savannah State, he refused to fire the DC, he lost more fans. Then he flirted with Penn State and lied about it, losing more fans. He lost the last fans he had after the Louisville debacle to start this year.

I have a real hard time seeing Miami score more than 20 in this game. I think our d-line is going to have a great day getting after the QB. A healthy Gregory makes a huge difference in our defensive line play. I see at least 3 sacks and 1 int. Duke Johnson will most likely get his 100 yards but they need to make sure he earns everyone of them with about 25 carries.

If TA continues to play like he has in the first 3 games offensively we will be fine. He can go 50% as long as we have no INTs a couple of TDs and about 225 passing yards. Throw in about 60 yards rushing and that is a good game.

The O-line I think will be better dialed into the game. AA will be around 130 on about 20 carries. If Newby/Cross and TA can split up another 150 yards that will be good. I really think they can run on Miami. If you watched any of the Louisville gave you saw how the Miami d-line got warn out by the 4th.

Come out and play hard and focused and the game will be won.

31-17 Nebraska
