**** What did we learn - Miami Edition ****

Josh Banderas can't play football. He is too slow to play in space, he cannot tackle, he finds ways to screw up sure plays. I'm not sure what the coaches are seeing, and maybe he does some really great field general type sh#t, but my god. Miami exploited his ineptitude up and down the field all night.

Ameer Abdullah is the best football player, besides perhaps Ndamukong Suh, that we have seen since the 1990s.

That AA is the best all around RB ever at NU. Not another back I would take over him out of all of em in the books. I'm dead serious. Witnessing something very, very special.
I absolutely love Ameer....but....he is not the best all around back Nebraska has ever had. I know he is the all time leader in yards, but most of NU's best backs didn't return kicks or do a lot of receiving (they could have, NU just didn't throw to the backs that much in the glory days).

Mike Rozier, Ahman Green, Lawrence Phillips...all better backs than Ameer. But, even listing him among those names is quite a tribute to his incredible talent.

Ameer & Suh top tier.

Next tier, LaVonte David. Not sure who else is up there with him, but those are the top three for sure.

Well, without coming down too hard on the kid, he has clearly struggled. His lack of aggressiveness and shying away from contact is clearly a concern. He's out of postion constantly and slow to react when in pass coverage. Maybe he's hurt or I don't know. There's a reason Roach was brought in though I'm assuming.

With all due respect, what does ameer do behind the olines hose guys had? In the offenses those guys ran?

Let's see how things play out, but I don't think you can put Ameer behind Philips and Green anymore. He's really good.

Now Miami will have to endure more speculation from the media about this team as a whole. The series is 6-5 I believe. That dude who made a video and put up on the youtube about Nebraska can go s*ck on a whale turd floating along the shoreline.

Exactly, his physical stature and numbers may not have the same pop, but he has a different style. He also refuses to go down and has insane balance.

I learned that all week and up till we had the game in hand, in the back of my mind, I played the scenarios that would have us losing due to the big stage. For now those have been laid to rest. Also Ameer is amazing, Mitchell could outrun a cheetah, and the student section showed that it wants to be a force for opposing teams!

Roach has some ability, Banderas does not. I think some midnight egg muffins sounds awesome right now.
Nah, people are flipping Banderas waaaaay too much flack. He played a pretty decent game and only had a few missed assignments...just like Cockrell and just like Gerry tonight (who missed coverage twice and didn't wrap up 3 times).

But hey, he's a good scapegoat.
I didn't see anyone else miss as many tackles as him. And unlike Gerry, Bando just seems to shy away from contact. I have seen many times where he would wait for the half back or a lineman to come to him, which usually gave them at least 3 more yards. Rose would always attack and meet the back in the hole, have just never really seen that from Bando.

-That we need to ride ameer as far as he will take us.

-The talk of simplifying the offense and perfecting certain plays during fall camp wasn't just hype

-if we control the line of scrimmage on the offensive side like we did today, we can play with anyone left on the schedule

-The D stepped up and caused turnovers when we needed them

-Gregory is a hell of a football player and will be in the nfl this time next year

-Kevin Maurice might deserve more reps

-

Only real concern is the freshman QB and 70th ranked offense in the country moved the ball with more ease than I had thought or would like to see.

Hey Josh, go steal a bike and come back, okay?

The Iron N is losing their leader after this year (graduation)
He's a good one, but I don't think there will be any slack once he's gone.
