International Man of Mystery
Stop me if you've heard this before.
An undefeated Big Ten team enters conference play at home, a heavy favorite against a fellow conference opponent who has looked average in their non-con schedule - and that's putting it mildly. The visiting underdogs proceed to take it to the home team, beating them by three scores to ruin Homecoming.
Have you heard this joke before?
If you watched Northwestern dismantle Penn State this afternoon, you have.
That Penn State game was painful to watch. The Nittany Lions looked like they were running in mud the whole game, while Northwestern had fire, passion and desire. Illinois has no reason not to come into this game with the same intensity. They should.
But that doesn't mean they should win.
We have Ameer Abdullah. We have Tommy Armstrong. We have Kenny Bell, Jordan Westerkamp, Randy Gregory, Maliek Collins and Josh Mitchell.
And, oh yeah...
So let's see that passion, that fire, that drive we showed last week to beat Miami. Let's see this team handle success well. Let's see them remain focused through a trap game, and dominate when they should dominate.
This is the first step to a Big Ten Championship. It happens here, or it may not happen at all.
Unleash the hounds.
Also, I'd forgotten that I used to do this and I don't know why I stopped. Here's some music to begin your gameday:
March Grandioso

Hail Varsity

Hail Varsity
Hail to the team
The stadium rings as everyone sings,
The Scarlet and Cream.
Cheers for a victory, echo our loyalty;
So, on mighty men,
The eyes of the land, upon every hand,
Are looking at you.
Fight on for victory
Hail to the men of Nebraska U.
