Whose D does he have to pick up? Kind of a weird standard to set for a kid to play basketball.

I would guess understanding what defense the opponent is running.

In college there are a lot more help side/ rotation responsibilities than the kids have in high school. This same issue limited the minutes Agau got at Louisville last year. It's not "just guard the guy with the ball" anymore once you get to college. A lot more goes into it.
