Beck's family being harassed?C

I'm pretty sure it's a criminal offense....terroristic threats or something.
That's assuming threats were made. We don't know jack. Could have just been somebody telling his kid his dad was an idiot and should get caned.
I'm trying not to be too judgemental knowing next to nothing, but Beck's attitude with the media and fans is growing tiresome.

Have you watched the presser? link

I wouldn't say at all there's an attitude issue with Beck. The Q&A itself was vanilla, but that's how they should be. Beck specifically came out to speak to the media because of the loss and because he wanted to be the voice speaking for his offense and taking the heat (you'll see Sam ask some good questions, like playing some different guys on the OL or Tommy's missing on easy throws).

Normally, it's not policy for either of our coordinators to speak to the media, and I don't know how unusual that is, but I think it comes from Bo and it's out of a desire to protect the guys who are under him. I'm fine with that as Bo is coming out every week to take the questions (and not to mention, he's done a good job tone-setting this year), although after watching Beck do it, I think he does a fine job and wish he'd speak with the media more.

The presser was fine. There's just been some undertones for awhile now and some things in Sip's article about Beck's silence that just rub me the wrong way.

Yeah, I can agree on the undertones. It's hard to tell how it is because things haven't really hit a low point so far this season.

Do you have a link handy for Sipple's article? Sipple, heh. It seemed from the Q&A that he had already decided the storyline he was going to write and asked Beck to confirm some leading statements. He did come up with one great open-ended question though. "So what did you focus on...this week?"

Does anyone know what was actually said/done to/at/towards Beck's family? Because if all we're going off of is the tweet in the OP, this is being blown WAY out of proportion.
This. Everyone is getting bent out of shape over . . . ?

This is like the clap issue. We fans and the media are blowing this up much farther than it needs to be. Im starting to think this staff is punking us. Remember the Jamal Turner at QB first day of spring ball?............

Ill regret this, but gonna do it anyway. LOL. I'll be another insensitive prick and say, that for 750K a year to coach football, you guise can say whatever the hell you want to me and my family.
Easy to say when you're not in that situation. Everyone thinks money can make everything tolerable. Well sorry, but glad you aren't a coach because you'd be in for the wrong reasons. Do people really think that coaches do what they do because of the money? They don't. They love the game, know the game, and can't play anymore. The closest thing they can get to that high is coaching. Sure money helps, but its not the backbone of what they do
But they should also know this comes with the territory and help their family understand that as well. If this isn't a death threat or some credible threat of bodily harm, then somebody either needs to learn to let things roll off their shoulder or find another profession.
I will agree with this. Someone mentioned this has got blown out of proportion and it has. I have no idea what was done or said. If it is just people saying things or whatever, you are correct. I just went out on a limb and guessed it was worse due to Beck refusing to talk. If it was something minor, then yes, it comes with the territory.

I agree. It has been blown out of proportion by the fans and media.

This behavior is absolutely disgusting. Fans are entitled to their opinions, but when you start harassing a coach or their kids you should probably find something better to do with your own life. Yes a coach has thick skin and should be able to brush those comments off, but when you involve kids and a family into the situation you are a horrible person.

I seriously would love to find out who this is and follow them around heckling them. How fun would that be show up at his work place or his home and just make up what ever garbage that comes to mind. People can be pretty damn stupid but you're not going to stop it, just like I probably wouldn't actually do it.
Cue the Seinfeld episode that dealt with this explicitly.........
Ha ha ha that's funny

This behavior is absolutely disgusting.
What is disgusting? What happened? What was said? Who said it? Was it an adult to a child, kid-to-kid, adult-to-adult (like to Mrs. Tim Beck), or something to Beck himself when his family was present?

Was it griping about coaching, about the loss, the way the team played, or something else?

Did it involve curse words?

Were threats made? If so, to whom? What kind of threats? How many times did this occur?

Jeffrey Gaskins‏@GaskinsJeffrey @937JohnGaskins Adrian Fiala said Tues Beck wasn't talking b/c of fans giving his family grief. Is there any more truth to this? #Huskers

Come on man! If this is true, complete and utter BS. I am not a fan, but to make comments to his family is the same BS folks did to Coz and his in 2007.

Families should be completely off limits. Sadly disappointed in the fans if true.......
This.

If true, involving any man's family in the matter is idiotic.

If the fans think they know something about football then why don't they buck up and coach. I dont go up to doctors and tell them how to do their job, but these casual fans who think football is so easy think they can spout off their comments to a coach and his family is absurd.
