I just bought a Makita cordless drill (9.6v) with case and battery charger from a little junk shop down the street. No battery and they didn't know if it worked, so I got it for $5. (I have one already, so I have a couple of extra batteries.) Got it back to my office, put in a battery, and voila! Works like a champ.

edit: The pic is a random pic off the Interwebs. The one I bought is like that one.

Lava from Kilauea's bubbling new vent has yet to swallow a single home or close a key thoroughfare, but the volcano has changed everything in this little town on the Big Island.

National Guard members are a 24/7 presence. Roadblocks keep disaster tourists at bay. Schools have closed. The dump has been relocated to within an easy sniff of the unhappy Nani O Puna apartments.

The Locavore Store, which sells bounty grown by its "farmy neighbors," closed on Halloween. An apologetic sign on its empty storefront explains: "We will be re-opening on the north side of the lava flow.

This one is just oozing out slowly. But it seems like the whole top could blow off some of the Hawaiian islands at any time.

 
Watched the movie "Sex Tape" with Cameron Diaz and Jason Segal over the weekend. It's amazing that Diaz isn't doing porn if that's all it took for her to get naked in a movie. It was very terrible. Showing her a$$ 3 times was pretty much the only highlights of the movie.
