11 Wins

Now, with that schedule, I see 5-6 losses if the team plays like it did Saturday. Team will be less talented too.
I don't think we'll be less talented next season.
oh? abdullah and gregory are coming back?

we will be 5-6 if the team plays like it did against rutgers or purdue.
We're fine in the backfield......and Bussey reaffirmed his commitment in the past couple of days. Gregory isn't having an All Conference season. Where we better hope we're more talented next season is the OL.
yeah, gregory is so overrated.

the scheme though, that's impeachable. we just need better players. better than top 5 nfl draft talent.

and the rush attack, we do not even notice when ameer is injured or out.

but, what was our last good o-line?

but you are right, we better keep hoping for something better. that seems to be the coaching staff's strategy.

You're expecting a freshman to come in and be Ameer Abdullah?? K...

And a consensus top 5 NFL Draft pick isn't a big loss?? K...

I didn't say either of those.....but our recruiting of running backs has been stellar. Gregory would be a big loss. But right now he wouldn't be first team All B1G.

My point exactly. The season, albeit 10 games in, still has a lot of room for interpretation. 8-5 is obviously grounds for firing, considering the collapse it would be down the stretch. But, the fact this team COULD still win 11 games, with only two losses to solid clubs on road makes all this yelling and screaming meaningless.

The same fans that are wanting Eichorst to fire Bo mid-season, would probably have a different opinion if we won the next 3 against solid teams.

I'm not defending Bo by any stretch, just want the whole slate to be there before making a decision.
Not me I wanted his okolele hung a from clothes line after the drubbing in the CGG. And still want him gone. Heck I'll fly from Hawaii to Lincoln on my own dime and help load the benkins truck. Might even bring donuts.

The only thing that would give me hope is if we had a real strong top 15 opponent in our bowl game and we wiped the floor with them, and finished 11-2. Then I could feel a little more at ease.

Alright. First off, it's impossible for us to fire an 11 win coach. 11 wins means a BigTen champiohnshop. When is some gonna get it through their head that coach firings DO NOT take place after bowl games. Thus, 11 wins this year is the result of winning the BigTen title. Now, obviously it's gonna take some uncontrollable circumstances (Wiscy losing their last two) and us winning our last two, and then of course beating Ohio st, which is a pretty laughable concept at this point.

Now if for some god be knownst ridiculous reason this happens, it will be because obvious and ridiculous and incredible and perceived impossible improvements were made in teh next week or so.

From my chair here, i dont see it happening at all. And anyone with any sort of perspective should agree. The reality is this regular season will end at 8-4, most likely 9-3 in my opinion, or 10-2, all without a division title.

As far as finding a coach to come here. It's not that hard to see happening. Any coach in the country with any sort of skill has to look at our current situation and think "holy sh#t, I could really drive a freight train there". I mean, all he has to do is come in and teach guys how to execute the simple basics of defense, have an OC that doesnt have playcalling terets, and embrace the fans. I mean we're winning 9 games as it is playing some of the sloppiest most insulting football I've watched since Necessary Roughness. How would a solid coach not want a shot here?

bo came here to win championships. 7 years later he has no meaningful win. if anything, his teams have gotten worse. any prospective coach would see that. the bo mystique is gone. everyone knows he should not be a head coach. not here, likely not anywhere. bo is not even competitive in big games. i repeat, he is not even competitive.

and let us go over all of it. bo has used every single excuse [inheriting a "train wreck" (which gave him his talent for his best seasons), slow recruiting, conference change, coordinator changes. but in year 7, he has been in the big 10 longer than the big 12 at this point, he had an nfl top 5 draft pick at DE and a heisman contending running back. and his team still sh#t the bed]. embarrassed us multiple times on and off the field. told the fans to f#*k themselves. has had 7 years. and has yet to lose less than 4. oh, and look up our SOS. look up the rankings of our wins and losses. look at the w-l record of who we beat. not to mention he was hired as a defensive guru...

bo's tenure has been pathetic given the lack of progression. but hey, he brought his cat to the spring game. so that's something to remember. but now we are the joke.
Well said my friend

Sker I asked if they would be happy with an 11-2 situation. I never said we would be or wouldn't be.

I have never required wins or losses, I want to see improvement, that is all. WE have not seen it since year two for this staff. WE get beaten down by good teams, play to the level of not so good teams.

I would have been fine if we were in the game with Wisconsin, gotten beat it happens. Michigan State was questionable. Did we really come back or did they let us back. McNeese State was a joke from the beginning and not for a miracle we would have lost. Do you really feel playing at the level of McNeese State is where we should be at this point. Do you feel that Wisconsin should have won by that score. Last year you told me to wait till this year for the massive recruiting improvement shown on the field. I still see the same unprepared team, poor tackling, poor QB play, deer in the head lights look, screaming at players, refs and other coaches. Nothing has changed except the year, except I saw a team quit last week. Hard not to in their situation.

I hate the thought of a coaching change. Have always said that. But are we where we thought we would be or should be. If you can answer that with a yes, then you see things that most can not. I hope you are right.

hell --drop the massive blowouts, be competitive in your losses, get a little bit better every once in a while and im happy...no problems. he can stay till he's 80.

11 wins won't get us anywhere near the CGG......unless wisky losses. And do you think for a second Neb could beat OSU in the championship. If slow and prodding can beat us, lord only knows what a mobile QB could do.

Btw coaches get fired when they get fired. Must I remind you of muschamp in Florida. Fired this week.

Loved this post but you got the +1 for this gem; "an OC that doesn't have playcalling terets". Beautiful!
