Charles Jackson in the bowl game?

Tweeted out today that things are looking good and might be ready to play in the bowl game. Thoughts? Should he play or take the med redshirt? If he does take it, it would mean 2 more years at Nebraska rather than next year being his last.

 
A medical redshirt has a qualifier of playing in less than 30% of contests in a given season. If he did play (which I hope he doesn't) it sounds like he'd still be eligible for the redshirt. Why risk it though?

 
We do not need to win whatever meaningless bowl game we're sent to so badly that it's worth risking re-injury to either Charles Jackson or Michael Rose-Ivey and have either possibly miss part or all of next season.

Both have intimated they could be ready. Neither should play.

QFT. It would truly be a waste, risk not worth the reward

 
As someone who has torn their ACL during football, I was held off contact/tackling until 6 months after surgery. No need to push it when it comes to football. Need to be absolutely confident in your knee or whatever ligament/bone you tear/break.

Medical redshirt? He's only been injured one time, this year, before any games were played. Best of my knowledge, he's taking a regular redshirt this year and he will have 2 remaining seasons left to play, 2015 and 2016.

Now, if he gets injured again - and plays less than x-number of games prior to the halfway point - he would be eligible to apply for a medical redshirt or hardship. Can't remember which one though.

If he plays in the bowl game, which I have no idea why he'd want to do that, he'd have one season left and that's it. I can't imagine anyone allowing him to do such a thing.
