DONE!
For me, I just don't give a damn anymore. If the people in charge don't, then why should I? I am done caring, done donating and done with the misguided energy I have wasted giving Bo the benefit of doubt. If we all ran our company's this way, we would be out on our keister! I have donned the loyalty for more years than I can remember but these losses (Wisconsin-ish) have taken their toll on me.
On the radio the other day I heard a caller call in and say Bo is getting better recruits the past few years and this will eventually pay off for him. It made me think of my dog, yes my dog! You see, I bought a very high dollar rot about 10 years ago. This rot was just like one of my kids. Her father was a National Guard dog champion and her mother was voted ms beautiful USA. Her mother had 5 pups which my dog was one of them. I raised this dog, trained this dog and worked with this dog for the first year and it turned out to be one of the most intelligent dogs I have ever seen. Mean as a T Rex to protect my family and property but gentle as a lamb with any age kid and people who were guest. As a test of loyalty, the judging individuals asked me to show them something that was totally out of character for such an animal. I brought with me a steak, juicy and thick. I gave it to the judge and told them to give it to my dog. They did and just as my dog was about to enjoy the steak, I simply said aahck and my dog gently spit it out. I told her to go ahead and she picked it up and I said it again. Once again, she dropped it. The flavor and anticipation to consume this steak did nothing to deter her from heading my commands.
One of my dogs sisters was acquired by a local person as well, and at the same time I acquired my girl. Same blood line, same size, same everything... yet she turned out to be just an average dog. Ran around without minding, tore crap up and disobeyed about every command in the book. The local guy was astonished how these two dogs came from the same mother and sire.
Moral of the story, just because Nebraska has got better athlete's with the qualities, ambition and tools to be great... the how to needs to be instilled in them to succeed, and it is plainly obvious that Bo is no better than the local who bought my dogs sister and failed miserably!
This is terrible. You have presnap reads and the qb reads things during the play like the zone read to keep or handoff and the coverage for throws but is Beck really running an offense that have plays that are both run/pass AFTER the snap? No wonder why we some games we just can't get into an offensive rhythm. Stop overthinking football. You call plays based on what you do well and then adjust to what you see the defense doing to react to it. You watch tape to find their tendencies and you give them new looks to create mismatches. What is all this nonsense about reading defenders to see whether you hand off or pass? How does the line read all this? We are talking about split second decisions. It's no wonder we have so many false starts. Not to defend "Air chair fail" and his comments, but this does give a little background to his comments:
That's the crazy offensive type things that are starting to develop over us like some stuff that we do. We have plays that it's a pass and a run at the same time and we read the guy. If the guy covers the pass, we hand the ball off and if he doesn't, if he's sitting in there playing the run, then we throw it. So we have the best of both worlds and he's wrong no matter what he does. Why? Because they're reading us, so now we're, in turn, reading them, where in the past, the running back would say, "Oh, it looks like a run, and I'm gonna play the run". It doesn't work like that any more.
The above is from Beck and his offensive philosophy as seen on his discussion with Corn Nation........
So not only do we have receiver/QB "read plays, we also have run/pass "read" plays where, if I am reading correctly, the RB reads someone, the QB reads someone and the both make the same read and do a pass or a run. Of course if the RB reads run and the QB reads pass.......Now I have no idea how an OL can instantly read the "key defensive" player, and then make the correct read to get into pass pro or run block...... WTH....That's a lot to read in about 2 seconds tops.....Not to mention if the "key defensive read" "shows" blitz or dropping back etc......
Now people read linemen, so if a lineman steps like this, you're gonna go over here. That's why some of this stuff where we're reading defensive linemen, we'll block a certain way because I know if he's reading the guard, and I pull the guard, he's gonna go like this, so I'm gonna pull the guard and I'm gonna go the other way.
Well Tim, what happens when the DL doesn't "go like this"? Because I know he's reading the guard and if I go this way with the guard he will go this way.....
Beck continues to amaze me.........It's the staff. not the players.......
