This is really misleading.
He never said that.
He gives all of his coaches the freedom to operate and control their staffs as they see fit. Bo could have made any changes at any time had he chosen. Bo never made that choice.
I don't know that Bo and Eichorst had that conversation of if Bo would or wouldn't do so, but Eichorst clearly never said he didn't allow Bo the opportunity to make changes. Quite the opposite. Bo could have taken the reins and done so at any time.
He may have benefited from doing so. That was not clear in either direction. It may not have helped.

I agree. I think if Bo had made changes last year, he may still be the HC this year. It sounded more like a last ditch effort by Bo to save his job.
