National Media Reacts to Pelini's Firing

Ultimately, the next guy is going to have to win, and win fast, or he's going to get hammered, and our fanbase and school will get trashed.
Yes. Any option B on this is beyond hypocritical.
i don't know about that. hopefully the next guy just shows any indication of improvement over 5 plus years and avoids embarrassment on and off the field.
What is "any" indication of improvement?
Not stagnating...
yeah, being able to compete woth everyone on your schedule, in a weak conference, after 6 years of being the head coach.

Agree. But numbers have to be attached to that. And hardware. Immediately.

why?
Standards, expectations, tradition, resources, facilities, talent. The ONLY missing link has been coaching. I'm totally fine with Pelini's firing, but there should be no backpedaling on where we go from here.
so the next coach should be afforded less of a chance, less time, than bo?

the national media is a complete joke, one minute they agree Pelini should be let go, then when it happens they question the decision. It all comes down to ratings, it sure doesn't have anything to do with integrity.

Yes
we will have to wait and see what eichorst and the boosters think.

My God my head hurts after reading TheSker's posts. We give Bo 7 years. His best defense and offense are in years 2 and 3. His program begins to regress in many ways, including some of the most embarrassing performances in the history of our school. So the new guy must have everything fixed in year 1 and accomplish what Bo failed to do in 7 tries. Seems reasonable.

He got some leeway with the conference change I'm sure.

some people think bo was held to an unreasonable standard and will make damn sure the next coach will be held to those same imaginary standards.

Its only fair that we gave Bo seven years to win 0 conference championships. The next guy gets 1 year! or else!

Are we Bo fans or Husker fans? Seriously. 26-25 against teams with winning records. 40-2 against teams with losing records. This guy's resume' is built upon beating weak teams.
