FootballScoop: Nebraska Seems locked in

Since last night I have spoken with a number of connections and the feeling in the profession is that Nebraska athletic director Shawn Eichorst seems to have a very short list – perhaps with only one name on it. Sources have told me he isn’t taking calls from coaches trying to get themselves involved. He doesn’t appear to be building a list. He sounds like he is locked in.

This one sounds like it is coming and it is coming soon. As always, we’ll keep you posted as things happen on The Scoop.

Wondering who would be a "home run" or "splash" hire if it isn't Tressel. The "splash" list seems pretty short.

 
I really hope it isn't Frost. I mean, I like the guy, but replacing a newbie with another newbie seems dumb.

 
If nothing else, I think Nebraska's re-established itself as one of the premier jobs in the country.

It's not Florida, but I think we can let go of the "no coach will ever want to come here" worries as a byproduct of our continued haunting by Steve Pedersen.

The way Eichorst has done this, we really have no idea.
