I'm assuming it doesn't have to be consecutive years. So this would be 1995, 1996 (Dec. 31), 1998.

Thanks playoff committee. They were sitting on a traditional matchup (actually two as FSU often chose the Sugar Bowl) and balked.

Thanks playoff committee. They were sitting on a traditional matchup (actually two as FSU often chose the Sugar Bowl) and balked.

They didn't really have a choice since Alabama should obviously play in Alabama as the #1 team.

They didn't really have a choice since Alabama should obviously play in Alabama as the #1 team.

They brazenly swapped #4 with #5 to get the Buckeyes in over the small privates. Making them #3 is small matter, or swapping Bama and OU.
