“What intrigues me most about Mike Riley is this: Yes, he has a friendly nature, but I think it tends to overshadow a quiet confidence that likely will reveal itself more as we come to better know the man. You hear little-to-no hesitation in his answers. He seems to have a very firm grip on how he wants to proceed – a quality you might expect from someone with his wealth of experience. I just hope people don’t mistake his friendliness for a lack of competitiveness. There’s no way he could’ve advanced as far as he has in his profession without being ultra-competitive and savvy.”

i would agree, although he has not had wild success, he has lots to draw from.........his organizational skills may be his strong suit.......CEO of the team, sounds about right....managing his coaches may be his strong suit as well,

The road to success is often bumpy, obstacles to overcome. It does not appear that this staff will be creating those obstacles and throwing them in their path. A breath of fresh air.

So less is more?

Exactly.
There's enough adversity in the life of a college football student athlete. These guys don't need their coaches helping to create more of it like the last staff did. I think everyone, fans, media and players alike, will come around to enjoying the ride with less controversy and negativity.

I don't. Riley seems pretty shrewd,...maybe just the guy we need to get business done and handle all the overbearing nutjobs.
