Zaire Anderson Selected for NFLPA All-Star Game

Kind of surprised. He was our best LB this year but I never thought he performed to expectations or hype that was talked about him when he came here. Some thought he'd be the next LaVonte David. But I'm glad he was selected and wish him the best. He was a solid player.

Numerous reasons/theories why he never "panned out". I thought he performed well in games, but other LB's got the majority of the PT until Zaire was pushed into action after those other LB's became injured.

I just wish that all future Juco LB's aren't compared to Lavonte David. David was/is an athletic freak with a crazy motor.

If we would of had any LBer depth whatsoever when LD was here he would have been riding the pine. Why? B/c he did alot of things on his own outside of the "scheme" and Bo was not happy with him MANY times even if he made the play. Bo just didnt have any other choice but to play him with the injuries and lack of depth.

For the same reason i think Zaire didnt "live up" to the hype. Bo muffled him by making sure he played the scheme b/c if he didnt he would be on the bench and replaced. Zaire is an aggresive instinctual player and it showed by plays he made when he was allowed to cut loose.

Zaire was a consistent constant for us on D. He will be missed. I really hope he gets a shot at the next level.

I think something that Zaire didn't get enough credit for was his ability to cover RB's and TE's during pass plays. It seemed like he always had pretty good coverage, even during the times the receiver caught the ball.

Remeber that one play where he was running around confused as to where he needed to be set up and when the snap went he said screw it, shot the gap and got a TFL. He'll be missed next year.

Zaire Anderson had 8 tackles in the NFLPA All Star game. The most of any player on either team. Congrats to him and I wish him all the best in his future. I think he will be in the NFL next year.

I don't know that anyone expected him to be the "next LaVonte David". That seems like a pretty lofty expectation but I did expect more from ZA's career here. Once again I think this was just another highly talented, physical and athletic player who was not given the best opportunity to succeed due to his coaches. I think there's a lot of other places that Zaire would have been a big time player.

I hope he enjoyed his time as a Husker and I hope he represents us well on an NFL team.

Probably why afalava left.
Now that I think about it, this was a pervasive problem on both sides of the ball (think Moore at OL). Forcing a scheme on guys who may or may not be able to run it instead of considering player skillsets was one of Bo's teams biggest weaknesses.

Afalava had far more issues than on field performance.
