Before Bo Was Hired

If you ever read www.bigredboard.com they were basically all against Bo...they also banned anyone that wasn't against Bo. They had some thoughts that I figured were crazy at the time but looking back, some seemed true...That board is still up but it is all closed off to anyone from the "outside" Some of you might have read it or remembered it.

But they had "inside info"

1. Bo hated recruiting: He never visited recruits and was never used as a closer

2. Bo was a hot head: Enough said

They had some other concerns but I can't remember, ColoradoHusker probably remembers.

 
It was a crazy message board that was a bunch of guys that hated Osborne/Solich and LOVED Pedeyshine and Callahan. They were in such butt-hurt when the Callahan era went south. They had a term called the "Tradition Coalition" or TC for short, that they used for anyone who was "in the old guard".

When BC was going to be canned, they didn't want Bo because he was tied to Solich, Osborne, and the rest of the Tradition Coalition. They are now having a big laugh again because Bo was fired. I am pretty sure they hated the fact that NU went to 3 conference championship games under Bo.

 
They were super nuts...It was my first intro to message boards and man...they were crazy!

If you posted about wanting Bo...they would reply DO NOT WANT

 
It was the complete opposite on other boards. I cam here after being banned from another board for criticizing Pelini and posting about how the culture of the program was completely broken.

 
bigredboard was simply amazing for many reasons...There was some super dork that would "break down" the "game film" each week...saying that he would watch each play like 10 times and examine what the OLine was doing...it was so stupid...

I've only ever been a Nebraska fan so I can't speak to other teams. I'm curious, though, do other teams like tOSO and UM inspire the same type of vitriol that you speak of when Bo was hired 8 years ago? It's crazy because they were ultimately right, they just had to wait 8 years to prove their point.

I don't get it. It's absolutely entertaining, though.

I am not sure...but those guys that were posting on that site LOVED to hate on Nebraska during that time.

It has nothing to do with being right or wrong. It just a bunch of fans that were pissed off that Solich "ruined" us, and were even more pissed of that we fired their savior, so proceeded to go all TheSker and badmouth the next guy. And low and behold, 8 years later, they were right. Yeah. Real good premonition there. It's just a guess and it's just an opinion. I dont like this coach. bla bla bla. The guys who started disliking Bo 3-4 years ago werent "right". They were just taking a stab based on an opinion at which time, said coach had just as much chance of fully succeeding as failing. "I was right, you were wrong" revisionist crap is just all bullsh#t. Cuz no one hell truly knows until it's over. Guys like Polo supported Bo at one time too. sh#t I gave up on Bo completely after Wisconsin 2014. I was right all along. I told you he would fail.

(I only mention Polo cuz he's the most well-known and polarizing person that perfectly exemplifies my point with his arrogant a$$ "I told you so" bullsh#t)

The biggest compliment I ever heard about Bo's recruiting was that he did really well on in home visits and was the closer, so idk about that...

 
The BRBers thought Pedeyshine and Callahan walked on water. It was an amazing place to be during 2007. If you would say anything negative about SP or BC, you would get banned. Then you just had to come back under another user name, until they figured you out and banned you again.

They had this crazy "secret" section of the board that they only gave access to users by invitation. I guess they also had a "super-duper-secret" section where they just railed on everything and everyone.

 
After awhile...they just locked the registration and even right now I think the registration is locked...basically its like the same 25 posters that all post the same stuff all the time.

No one has a different opinion on anything.
