Just like the Jets beating the Colts in Super Bowl III helped every team in the AFL, every Big Ten wins helps the image of the conference.

Wisconsin winning would be huge.

Last time a Big Ten school won a basketball title was Sparty in 2000(Maryland in 2002 doesn't really count) and 5 teams have been runner-up. If "premiere basketball conference" is going to be used then they need to wins some titles every now and then.

Like it or not perception is huge in football and basketball
