Nine Wins Not Enough!

That article wasn't very well written.

I don't necessarily disagree. But there wasn't anything new - or expressed any better - by Brandon Cavenaugh.

But that graph about all the teams that have lost at least four games during the same 7 game streak --- that kinda hit the nail on the head.

Except what makes what Pelini did unique is he would also be included on a graph of those who lost four "or less" in the same 7 years.

Another thing unique to Bo Pelini:

He's the only person I've ever seen spit in Ron Browns face.

in a way its too bad Brown is such a devout christian. Any lesser man woulda been laid back and cold clocked Bo right across the that big nose. And that my friends woulda been must see TV.

No one is saying Bo Pelini is not unique. His ability to crash both parties is fascinating by itself.

But take a good, long look at the Four Loss Club. Does it appear to represent Nebraska's peer group a lot better than the Nine Win Club?

And doesn't that suggest that consistency is a cruel mistress?

Riley's results will help us know what it suggests......as Riley is a member of the .500 Club. That's what I don't like.

You're right.

Maybe we should all wait a few seasons before posting again.

People that normally fail, look for and expect failure in everything they do.

I wonder how Bo Pelini would have faired coaching 7 years at Northwestern, or Indiana, Illinois.

Wonder how Mike Riley would have faired at Nebraska the last 7 years or at Bama or USC, where he was wanted. A far cry from Penquin State.

Have faith ye of little faith Sker. ''

Pretty sure the talking heads would have Good Old Mike winning some major games, Bezerk Bo possibly killing a lowly water boy before it was over.

I got a couple friends that are still bo guys. Really torks them off when I say that even Callahan coulda won 9 a year in the Big Ten.
How can they still support Bo after all that had transpired??? Callahan would not have won 9 in year 1 jamming the square pegs into round holes...

It's always easy to make the pencil pushers in administration the bad guy. No one knew that better than Bo. The Pelini loyalists I knew had no problem blaming Eichorst for stealing Bo's balls. That was a significant if not majority sentiment on this board less than 12 months ago.
