I have been a fan of the mighty Nebraska Cornhuskers since I was a kid. Unfortunately I am more of a BYU fan. I am coming up for the game and wanted to know how I can truly enjoy the best that Husker fandom has to offer? I have been on your campus many times recruiting and have always wanted to attend a game in that beautiful stadium.

BYU tailgating is awful for obvious reasons and seeing that I live in SEC and Big 12 country I have become a fan of true tailgating and soaking up the other teams traditions and culture.

Any assistance would be great. Will I be welcome in the tailgating areas wearing my BYU gear? Where is the best area to go for tailgating? When does the team walk in so I can cheer for your boys before the game? Anything I should be aware of during the game? Anything you recommend after the game?

You will definitely be welcome in your BYU gear, so wear your colors and be proud. Nobody will give you grief for wearing your stuff.

Most any tailgate lot is good. I'd recommend the ones north and east of the stadium, or directly north of the stadium, but going to the Haymarket area of downtown (about four blocks west of the stadium) is a lot of fun. You'll find plenty of bars there, and a general party atmosphere. There's a highway overpass west of the stadium a block or so, and under that there's a pretty good tailgate lot.

Walk around, be friendly, and folks will be friendly in return. You should have a great time.

Bronco has maintained all along that players would be disciplined which may or may not include suspension for their involvement. Everyone assumes automatic suspensions. Why?

Because that's the standard that's been established by most universities across the nation? I mean, if you guys wanna go all SEC, then whatevs.

Through a partnership with the Big 12, they review on field matters. For example when Tejan Koroma was ejected last year, the Big 12 reviewed the incident and rescinded it.

"We struggled (getting penetration) last year," Rowley said. "We have to be more physical and then we can open holes."

He said that after months of not being able to really hit the QB, he's anxious to get to the Nebraska game and go all out.

"That's the best feeling in the first game when you get to hit the quarterback," Kaufusi said. "You're sick and tired of patting them on the back and running by."

Brandon Davies was dismissed from BYU's basketball team after he admitted to having sexual relations in violation of the school's honor code, the Salt Lake Tribune reported Wednesday.

Sorry dude. He was dismissed from the team, not school. He actually withdrew from school voluntarily. He was never expelled. This also was a second incident which resulted in a child. So it was a bit more complicated than playing just the tip.

Isn't this comparable to being given the chance to resign voluntarily, prior to being fired?

BYU was dinged up quite a bit last year. Plus they moved Bronson Kaufusi to OLB last year. It was a disastrous move. Combined with the injuries to the defense, young guys forced into playing time, and a first time DC the defense really suffered.

Bronco took back the defense and the DC was demoted to DB coach. Bronson has been moved back to DE. He's a talent but he's best suited to play DE in 4-3 IMO. So he's still a bit of a square being forced into round hole.

The secondary was pretty bad last year, but they get too much of the blame for the defense. The real issue was a lack of pass rush and the secondary paid the price.

BYU's front 7 is legit. Bronco has always had a stop the run first mentality. That hasn't changed, but there has been an emphasis of getting to the QB especially with those guys whose whose hands are in the dirt.

I think the secondary will be a bit better than last year. There were a few guys who didn't buy in and it exposed the team and scheme which is dependent on assignments.

Still, the defense is relatively young. I'm anxious to see if the secondary is improved and if we can dominate an inexperienced line up front.

As for the zone read, I don't think BYU is too concerned about it. Bronco defends it and the triple option as well as anyone in the country. Besides they see a better read option QB than Tommy Armstrong everyday.

More or less. The best way to describe it is if you're an MMA fan you know you can never let any fight go to the judges. The Honor Code Office is much the same. You never want your fate decided by them because you never know what they will decide. Withdrawing allows players to get out of Dodge before they can dismiss you, then return after a period of good standing. It's what BYU running back Jamaal Williams is doing.

Fortunately, BYU has adopted a no comment policy when it comes to HC violations. The Brandon Davies thing brought it all about because they felt he was needlessly shamed publicly.

Really though, I think many fans wish the HC would go away, myself included.

BYU shouldn't be concerned about the zone read, It's probably no big deal anyway. Not saying Taysom Hill is a bad QB, but I would rather have a QB who spent more time on the field than riding the pine with injuries. Maybe this will be the year he makes it through a whole season.

I've spent some time at CougarBoard the last few weeks. This is the prevailing sentiment. They truly believe that every one of their players is a victim, and none should be suspended.

The majority of people (with some exceptions) think that this should all have been handled with up-downs.
