It's early, but I need to get this one off my chest:

You know what I'd love to see? Newby go 30 carries for 200 yards. Come on, #34. You show 'em. Nebraska loves a hero at RB.

Defense: Chris Jones. #8. Corners ahead of him have struggled and coaches have called him up. I don't think I knew his name before the USA game, he's come out of nowhere for me. The defense needs an ace, and a good story, and his is just getting started. They have a Defense Rex already: why not a Defense Ameer?

At this point I doubt he'll even see the field this year. Other than Newby, Cross, and Janovich, I really feel sorry for the other backs. I'm willing to bet that some of them would've transferred if they'd known they'd never play this year.

I have hopes for Jones (#8). Damon Benning was fawning over him last year already during practice. Damon said many times that his speed and length will do very good things. Here's hoping that works in Banker's defense too!
