The chances of Riley or Eichorst being fired by the end of the season are minimal and you should probably accept and understand that.Looks like it's that time again.

Oh, so the exact same thing you have been preaching since December. Don't worry, if you stop telling us, we won't forget you predicted Riley would suck. If he ends up sucking and getting fired we will hoist you up Bar Mitzvah style. If he kicks a$$ next year, you may as well make a new account. That based on Riley's "credentials", this train wreck could be seen coming a mile away. Then what the hell is your point?
Or from however many miles it is from Corvallis to Lincoln.
The only program on there that even resembles our struggles is USC from 1990-2001. Bama and OU were decimated by NCAA probation and sanctions in those years. Notre Dame fell on hard times after Holtz because the school chose not to lower their academic standards like they did under Holtz. Michigan State was never where we were. Here's some history on other programs who have gone through some hard times.
Oklahoma: 1989-1999 (11 years) 4 coaches; 3 losing seasons; 2 .500 seasons; Bob Stoops first year 7-5
Alabama: 1997-2007 (11 years) 4 coaches; 4 losing seasons; 1 .500 seasons; Nick Saban first year 9-6
So Cal: 1990-2001 (12 years) 4 coaches; 2 losing seasons; 3 .500 seasons; Pete Carroll first year 6-6
Notre Dame: 1997-2010 (14 years); 4 coaches; 4 losing seasons; 2 .500 seasons; Brian Kelly first year 8-5
Michigan State: 1991-2010 ( 20 years) 5 coaches; 9 losing seasons (0-11 in 1994); 3 .500 seasons; Mark Dantonio first year 7-6
Nebraska: 2002-2014 (13 years) 4 coaches; 2 losing seasons; 0 .500 seasons, Mike Riley first year TBD

Unless a miracle occurs, Nebraska will go at best 5-7 this year. Which is worse than any of the above coaches that eventually turned out well.
We will lose to Northwestern, Iowa, Michigan State and Wisconsin...
If we play like we did at Illinois we may also lose to Minnesota and Rutgers...

Purdue just scared MSU and to be honest I see 2 more wins and that's it at the current pace. Rutgers and one other maybe Iowa. We are a horrible road team. At least we get better teams at home. Wisky NW and MSU.We will beat Purdue, Rutgers and Minnesota this year. Between NW, Wisconsin and Iowa we win one of three, lets say Iowa. We will not beat MSU.
So, yippe, 6-6 if that pans out. Nothing to write home about.
Heres the thing, I'm super peeved about Riley's mismanagement of 4 of our games so far. I am truly hoping Illinois was a wake up call for him. When our offense is clicking, it's hard to stop. So if they can get on the same page with eachother and the staff we can win games as long as the defense plays a little bend but don't break.
If we can finish 7-5 this year I will be "happy", I just don't know if we are at that stage of chemistry to finish out like that. Wisconsin will tell us how the second half of the season is gonna go.

USC is similar though especially when you consider why they went through so many coaches in that time frame. It was because of some of their alumni much like ours who were accustomed to playing for NCs. Pete Carroll really wasn't a bullseye hire either. He was more or less comparable to Clownahan. Plus, he's the reason USC endured NCAA probation and sanctions. It remains to be seen, but I highly doubt they are a top program anytime soon again.
We are in absolutely no position to be marginalizing any of our future opponents this year.1-4 Purdue coming back from a partially self imposed 21-0 deficit against overrated Sparty doesn't mean they still aren't 1-4 Purdue.
